"I rented this house for my parents for a week in September. I hadn't planned on visiting but a funeral brought me to the midwest - so I came up for a few days. The house really has it all for a relaxing week on Lake Michigan. The views are spectacular. The house is incredibly comfortable. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the firepit, the kayaks, the hammock and just reading on the screened in porch. It's a really great spot to hang with friends or for a family trip."

"This was a very comfortable house, stocked with lots of linens and necessities (soap, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning products). We enjoyed the beach, even in the rain! The beach is layered with interesting fossils and shells, and the water was clear! The owner and manager were very quick to respond when my family locked the house doors with the house key inside. The owners had 2 backup plans in place to solve our issue. I'm very happy with our stay!"

"We have been traveling to Northern Michigan every summer for almost ten years now and compared with the two other houses we've rented in that time this was hands down the most comfortable, well maintained home we've had the pleasure of staying at. Quiet and welcoming with wonderful views of the water and access to a great Michigan beach. Close to Northport (and other communities) but with a relaxing sense of seclusion."

"Had a short family stay at this wonderful property. Everything is as described, down to the fully-stocked kitchen spices. The beds were comfy. The house is spacious enough to allow those who want to quietly chill or read to be away from others-- plus there's the property. The proximity to the water is perfect. Sandy beach, great for swimming or strolling. All in all a five start experience for us. We're looking forward to booking again. Thanks to the owner for making this gem available!"

"The cottage itself was lovely and we enjoyed our stay there. That said, it is on a main road so there was quite a bit of traffic noise. Also, the mattress in the main bedroom was saggy but there was a futon that was more comfortable. Unfortunately, there was a short power outage while we were there and since the house has a well, that meant we had no water. While the property manager did respond to our call and kept us updated on when the power might return, we were surprised that she did not...

"We celebrated our daughter’s 3rd birthday here and chose it because it had a pool and year round outdoor hot tub. I usually shy away from boutique hotels but I was delighted that I took a change on Hotel Earl! It exceeded my expectations every step of the way! We travel all over and often and this was easily one of the top 10 hotel rooms I’ve stayed in! The room was huge and beautifully decorated with tons of character. I could see how the pool and hot tub could get crowded fast in peak season but they were perfect for our April stay! The breakfast was much better than expected and the lady who was working the lo bar/lobby area while we celebrated our daughter’s birthday was so attentive and helpful. She went above and beyond which was definitely not expected but certainly appreciated!! Well done Hotel Earl!!!"
