Hotel was lovely - traditional decor - lovely room - staff could not have been nicer. I think it would be a struggle to find anywhere better in Blackpool. Will definitely be back to this hotel!
Unlike most that stay I was not part of a function just basing myself in Preston for a series of meetings over two nights. I stayed in the lodge which was excellent. Found this hotel as an alternative M6 stopover when premier inn and holiday inn at Lancaster were full. Glad we did. It's in a lovely setting on a golf course and breakfast is great. We were quite late checking in after a tiring drive but night staff were very helpful.
It was a pleasant stay, Bedrooms are a little tired, with old furniture but the bed was comfy and the shower was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The room was comfortable and clean with a TV and coffe and tea facilities. Breakfast was excellent and the three course fixed menu in the evening was good value and excellent food. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely be returning.
Massive car park. Large resort, has everything you might need. Two dinning choices, Italian or pub grub in the lively bar. Indoor and outdoor pool. Excellent value for money. Will stay again.
If your idea of romantic hotels includes images of Venetian canals, crumbling palazzos and flickering candles, while you stare into your loved one's eyes over a bottle of amontillado as a man with a violin and a rose between his teeth serenades you, then you might not immediately associate that with Lancashire!
But before you book a flight to Venice or Paris, have a look at the great choice of romantic hotels in Lancashire. This is a county with a robust industrial past, a no-nonsense approach to life - and a surprisingly romantic underbelly that welcomes star-crossed lovers all year round. Beautiful landscapes and great historic towns such as Lancaster and Liverpool are the ideal destination for a spur-of-the-moment break that will whisk your loved one off their feet. As Venice slips nostalgically into its lagoon and lives in the past, Lancashire's romantic hotels offer the perfect base for exploring an exciting and dynamic part of the United Kingdom.
With a number of first-class romantic hotels in Lancashire to choose from, it's up to you whether you would prefer to stay near the shops and cultural attractions of a city centre venue or out in the glorious Lancashire countryside at a historic hotel. There are romantic hotels in Lancashire to suit every mood. Sporty couples may like to have tennis courts and spa facilities on-site, whereas others incline more towards picturesque thatched cottages in the Ribble Valley. For others, a venue such as The Imperial Hotel or Viking Hotel in Blackpool will be perfect for enjoying the famous nightlife, clubs and entertainment of the city centre. With everything from stately homes, barns, cottages and even castles offering romantic breaks these days, your Lancashire romantic hotel can come in any shape or size, but they'll all deliver the goods.
Romantic hotels in Lancashire will lay on little extras such as intimate suppers and breakfasts in bed, often with candles and fine wines to enhance the mood. However, it is the landscape of Lancashire itself which contributes the real romance of a break here, and brings people closer together.
