Every bit a 5 star hotel, beautiful chandeliers, even in bedrooms and hallways, artwork everywhere, great location. Only negative comment, picture of hotel is misleading, makes it look like it is in a park, isolated, versus it is on Main Street of Stressa.
From the moment we arrived we loved the experience, stunning position with views to die for, amazing attentive staff, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent facilities and not to mention the food, the 2 restaurants served amazing food and breakfast had a large choice of fresh fruit, pastries and ...
Lovely hotel on lakeside with beautiful views, garden, own beach and pool. Located nicely between Verbania and Pallanza, both with good selection of restaurants within walking distance, as well as the lake ferry port where a great tour of the islands us available.
Had a great stay the staff were amazing in particular Both the head waiter's Antonio and cannot remember the second waiter name,, and the bell boy at the front desk Andrea, Love the place so much will return one day.
Every room has it’s own character. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. There is an excellent Michelin rated restaurant in the hotel. We wish the weather was better so we could enjoy the town more.
We enjoyed our stay even though our room and the bathroom were really small. The buffet breakfast was very good. The view from our terrace of the lake was beautiful

Lovely great value hotel looking out over lake in Stresa. Lovely front garden and pleasant pool out the back. A nice walk into the town one way and towards the cable car to Montarone the other way. Book a luxury hotel in Lake Maggiore and transport yourself to the golden age of Italian travel. Basing yourself near Lake Maggiore gives you a good choice of luxury hotels. The elegant resorts of Stresa, Cannobio, Baveno and Verbania have grand lakeside hotels that hark back to the days of the belle epoque. Many have balconies and restaurant terraces where you can enjoy top-notch meals complimented by stunning lake views.
All around Lake Maggiore, you’ll find four- and five-star hotels with spas, golf courses and stunning architecture, but head to the eastern side of Lake Maggiore, to the attractive town of Varese, to find several luxury hotels.
Along the shores of the smaller Lake Orta, search for enchanting luxury hotels and villas where you really can get away from it all.
Take one of the regular boats that go from Stresa to the Borromean islands. Both Isola Madre and Isola Bella have wonderfully over-the-top villas surrounded by lavishly landscaped gardens. The palace in Isola Madre also has an appealing collection of antique dolls and theatre puppets.
The other island in the group, Isola Superiore, might not have the aristocratic heritage of its neighbours, but it’s full of charming houses in cobbled lanes. You can also explore the extraordinary gardens created by a Scottish captain in the grounds of Villa Taranto in Verbania.
On the eastern shore of Lake Maggiore, you’ll quickly spot the imposing Medieval fortress that watches over the town of Angera. Wander through its impressive interior to see another collection of antique toys and dolls. Then climb to the top of the tower for some breath-taking views of the lake and mountains.
Relax on one of Lake Maggiore’s beaches. Relax on a sun lounger in the beach clubs of Stresa, Baveno and Verbania, or chill out on the sandy beach at nearby Feriolo. Wander through the peaceful marshes of the Fondo Toce nature reserve, or enjoy a private guided tour by canoe. And if you enjoy a round of golf, enjoy the backdrop of Lake Mergozzo when you play at Golf Verbania.
