"Great location on the shores of Thirlmere. Because of Covid Hotel restaurant was closed and couldn’t find a pub or Restaurant locally where you could sit down for a meal as everywhere was fully booked for the 3 nights we were there."

We stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is in an excellent location, walking distance to shops, restaurants and attractions. It's got lovely garden. The hotel staff were friendly and efficient. The room was boiling the first night, a staff member was kind enough to arrange a fan the next day. Breakfast was good too!
The hotel does feel a bit outdated and could did with some refurbishments and update as we felt it was a bit overpriced for the room you're getting.
Overall nice experience and the building has a charm and character which is worth it!

Nothing wrong with the room but is now looking a bit tired and in need of refurb which can be said about various parts of the hotel

very nice Quiet - feels private your own lake
very nice walk
unfortunately the Restorant was closed due to covid-19 but with Restorant working you do not need anything else
it is totally self contained place right on lake
we will always go there .

We only planned to dine in the restaurant once however the food was so delicious we decided to dine in twice...compliments to the Chef! We loved how all the dining tables faced out to the panoramic window showcasing a spectacular view of the farms and mountains around us. Our room was very clean and comfortable with great views also. As an ex hotelier in a renowned 5 red star property I was incredibly impressed with this hotel and would highly recommend it!
