We booked this hotel due to its location to Donington Circuit. The location was perfect, the circuit being about 10 minutes drive away (maximum).
The owners were lovely and very friendly, Beverley helped us find somewhere to eat on a Sunday when everywhere else was closed or had finished serving.
Although the hotel is on the main road, the small town of Melbourne is quiet and the road isn't busy - even on a bank holiday weekend. There are a number of places to eat nearby including a lovely...

We couldn’t have had a warmer welcome or to be made feel so valued as a guest. The room was lovely, the bed was very comfortable and everything was clean. We had all of the amenities we needed and more besides. Breakfast was lovely and were offered top ups of hot drinks. Probably one of the nicest places we’ve stayed in a while!

Had a great overnight stay. Lovely room with view on golf course. Nice to have bath with separate shower. Reception team very kind and helpful as were the staff in Roosters restaurant and the breakfast room. I took advantage of the nearby included gym and pool (12 min drive or the hotel also has a free bookable shuttle). All in all I was very impressed.

Was in Leicester for my daughter’s graduation, the bed was very comfortable, my wife snored happily all night. The breakfast was great, it set us up for the day. If I need to stay in Leicester again, I’ll be staying here.

Only stayed for one night on way home, wished was longer. Fabulous hotel in a lovely setting that would be a perfect base for local attractions. Staff very friendly and helpful, room great with gorgeous view and breakfast excellent. Arrived late but squeezed in a drink at bar...food menu looked good.

The best time to go to Kegworth is during the late spring and summer months, from May to September, when the weather is generally mild and pleasant.
During this period, you can expect warmer temperatures and longer daylight hours, making it ideal for exploring the local area and enjoying outdoor activities. The average temperatures range from 15°C to 22°C (59°F to 72°F), with less rainfall compared to other times of the year. This makes it superb for those who want to visit attractions like the Kegworth Museum or take leisurely walks along the River Soar.
Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find these months particularly appealing. The village's pubs often have outdoor seating, allowing you to enjoy a drink or a meal in the sunshine. The local events calendar also tends to be fuller during this time, offering opportunities to experience local culture and community gatherings.
For those planning to visit nearby attractions such as the Donington Park motor racing circuit or the National Space Centre, the summer months offer the best conditions for travel and exploration without the worry of adverse weather.
