Nice clean hotel with good facilities and welcoming, polite staff. Unfortunately the walls are paper thin, so you can hear every noise made by other guests. The beds were comfortable but the frames were so creaky they made a noise everytime someone moved.
Very clean room and bathroom. Well maintained. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast - good choice with hot and cold, continental style and healthy options
The welcome was warm, friendly and efficient by Maya. The room was excellent, Elemis products always a bonus! The gym is great and pool now open. Breakfast was good, but could have done with a better choice of cheeses. Waiting staff excellent.
Arrived a little late. Check inn went well. Quiet night no isuses had breakfast next morning a good mix of hot & cold food.hotel looked very clean inside. Will be staying again.

Friendly staff who upgraded this very weary traveler on checking in. Lift out of service, and was offered assist, but only had a small case and suit bag. Room excellent, comfortable, quiet. Didn’t have time for breakfast, but will most definitely have it next time. Great find, and convenient for the M1 south.
Great hotel rooms and brilliant housekeeping.
Warm welcome and clean hotel.
Nice touch with the water cans in the room
This hotel is right next to the airport so I expected aircraft noise and there is lots of it so do be prepared.
It wasn’t clear that parking wasn’t included when booking so a bit of a shock to have to pay £8 a night.
Restaurant was a let down for friendliness, speed of service, accuracy and general efficiency. I dined for dinner and breakfast for 4 nights and experienced the same things each time.
We were booked into this hotel at the last minute after our original hotel was suddenly cancelled on our arrival. The Duty manger at the Best Western Yew Tree Lodge, was kind and understanding and helped us with an earlier check-in so that we could get changed and ready for my daughters graduation ceremony, I don't know what we would have done otherwise. He helped to turn a bad situation into a good one. The hotel was much nicer than our original one with the bonus of a great restaurant and super friendly staff, thank you to everyone, we enjoyed our stay and would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone.
Overall the property was very clean and well maintained and the staff was kind and helpful. Be aware that the location and size of the “courtyard” shown in the booking images were misleading. The location was tucked away on a very, very small corner of the property. The spa was closed for renovations during our stay as well. The restaurant, Marco’s, was a big disappointment for anything outside of breakfast. Our meal order was mixed up, my partner’s steak was overcooked, both steaks were bland, and the side dish offerings were slim. I would definitely stay at the hotel again just know that there aren’t many dining options within walking distance.
This is a challenging review. We were really happy with the room and the breakfast (the service from the breakfast staff was impeccable and the food nice), however, after being out all day we returned at 10:30pm to discover the room had not be serviced. We understand oversights can happen, however, when we spoke to the front desk we received neither an apology nor an explanation and instead got a bit of gruff response and they asked us to wait 20 mins (given the hour and with a 3 year old we couldn’t wait that long). In the morning upon checking out, we raised it just as an aside and the lady at the desk was only concerned whether we raised it the night before, and when we said yes, she just said good - again no apology or explanation. It is disappointing as it really did detract from an otherwise great stay.
The hotel is dated. Old infrastructure and it is a bit odd that Level 2 and level 3 have only about 5 feet difference but that didnt cause us much inconvenience.
Biggest issue was plumbing and bathrooms in the hotel. I was given a room wherein the shower was rusted and water pressure dismal. I couldn't get any water through the shower head.
On complaint, I was given a second room which had a seperate shower but an electric shower head. I made mistake of using it and either it blasted ice cold or super hot water.
A few minutes later, I realised the toilet seat was broken. I went to the reception to complaint and was told that the hotel is fully booked and they cant do much about it at the hour. To be fair, staff was polite and as compensation offered me free breakfast but in his own words - it didnt remediate the original issue.
When I am paying £150+ for a night, I expect a clean, functioning bathroom and toilet and not £15 free breakfast.
After my return, I provided the feedback vai the IHG feedback request (Did I mention I am a member of their rewards scheme) and their response was:
Points noted but were not our fault because we expect previous guests to report the issue. It wasnt reported to them before i checked in and they didnt feel responsible for all the faults.... Really??? DO you expect previous guests to report old creaking infrastructure and broken toilets?
Well, your wish was granted just now!
