Great location lovely surroundings and very friendly and welcoming host

We loved the place: it’s a charming, quaint old cottage that’s had a sympathetic B&B conversion and is exceptionally neat, tidy and spotlessly clean. James and Katherine are exceptionally welcoming and helpful, and good fun. Everything in the breakfast room was beautifully presented and laid out with precision, and the hearty breakfast was, of course, exceptional! Everything is home-made or sourced locally. We received a warm and friendly greeting upon arrival and were looked after extremely well for all of our stay. The hotel is spotless throughout and is run by a family who want their visitors to enjoy their stay. Food is excellent and is cooked to order. Delicious! Only slight downside is that as this is a small hotel, there are no lifts thus it is not really suitable for those with mobility issues as all rooms are 'upstairs'. For all other visitors, you will enjoy your visit.

Lovely old building, beautifully clean and comfortable. Steve and Fiona were very welcoming and kind. Also, they cooked a mean breakfast from a varied menu. It was delicious. The only downside was the lack of parking outside The Bakehouse. It proved to be very difficult but the upside was that approx 60 yards away was a Car Park for only £3.30 for 24 hours! Highly recommend The Bakehouse if you are planning a visit to East Devon.

Have stayed here several times before and hope to again. As ever, everything was flawless - splendid dinner, comfortable room - particularly like the en suite, substantial breakfast and, surpassing all, friendly, obliging service. Surely a benchmark for all those who purport to run a 'country inn'.

Room was well furnished and had everything we needed including a bottle opener, wine glass, even a hot water bottle! Bed was comfy and there was a really useful folder of info in the room, the owner had included a few suggested walks around the property which was great and we did one of them just to stretch our legs. Ample parking, and the property was very well kept, no issues with noise or anything from the farm we were attached to. Loved the fact the owner offered proper milk for the rooms...

We stayed for two nights as we were getting married at the Goddess Temple and this was the perfect base. We felt perfectly at home and enjoyed some quiet time in the two sitting rooms and nothing was ever too much trouble. It really could be a museum and we could have spent the whole weekend looking at the items and artwork. Our room had everything we could wish for with the bathroom fully stocked with toiletries. Property was easy to find, included parking and I had a lovely welcome by David, the host. Exactly what I was looking for and all I required, a bed with breakfast, which was superb by the way. I had a full English. Everything was spotlessly clean, towels supplied, toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities in room. Was a pleasant walk into Glastonbury. I will definitely book again when I next want to stay in Glastonbury.

Beautiful accommodation, clean and well stocked. Breakfast was amazing and the restaurant has the most amazing view! Will definitely be back!

Beautiful hotel, beautiful location, staff fabulous

We had a comfortable & wonderful stay. The owners & staff were very helpful & polite. The hotel was a peaceful setting with wonderful grounds.

Our weekend was set for some truffle hunting and we chose Munden House as our base. We were given the Dairy cottage which was warm and cute. Although we didn't make as much use of the place as we'd like to have, it was wonderfully cosy. The bedding was perfect for a luxury sleep. And the couple that run the hotel are charming and delightful to chat to. Highly recommended.

It's about 8 miles from Honiton, yet advertised as being in The High Street, Honiton - why not mention the real location?

The breakfast was superb. It was so nice having a breakfast that was individually cooked and delivered to the table hot. The property is old and the floor in my room was at a slight incline. Not a problem at all but I did describe it as being like the house in the film of The Ladykillers - and that is with total affection as I love that film. Ate in the restaurant on one evening - good food and a good price. Would recommend!

A lovely location the New Inn is a fine combination of older characteristics and modern requirements for the leisure traveller. The hosts, Nicky and Richard are a friendly caring team together with their front of house lead Louise. We enjoyed their meals served with generous portions. Home cooking is the accurate description. We were travelling with our 6 year old grandson and he and two other young boys staying there were treated with a kind and genuine welcome. Our grandson wants to return...
