"On arrival, hotel looks beautiful. Lots of free parking. Check in was easy. We booked a family room for 4 people. The room itself, initially looked nice but on closer inspection wasn’t great; mould specs on curtains, carpet was full of stains, furniture old & worn, complementary gifts; basic & cheap, no reading light or air con (& it was a hot night) only a fan supplied which helped a little. No plugs next to bed & pillows were hard. Bedding clean (ish) & beds comfy (ish). A Wallpaper magazine, was out for show on the dresser dated Dec ‘24. It all looks good but finer details are overlooked & make it like feel budget hotel. Overall the room could do with modernising & a good clean! Breakfast was basic; condiments unbranded & a limited selection. Lots of overcooked English buffet food. Dining eating area was dirty; random chips on window sill, carpets need a good hoover. Staff not very welcoming or friendly. The pool is sold as part of the hotel & your stay. This is very misleading. This is NOT included & is £5 pp each day to use. Facilities were nice & worth £5 but this should be included in the price if you staying at the hotel. I spoke to the receptionist who advised, this is a complaint they receive a lot. Overall, looks great but really isn’t. I wouldn’t stay here again not would I recommend. It was okay, nothing more. Room was £144 PLUS the additional £20 for swimming, total of £164. I’ve stayed in much nicer places for much less. Disappointing."

"Really poor stay. Countless issues that shouldn’t happening in a 4 star hotel. - breakfast poor, bad hygiene, had to ask for tables to be cleaned (as did many other guests) Ham & cheese served with same spoon (food standards issues) - room had to repeatedly ask to be cleaned, 2nd time just dropped towels didn’t service anything or take old towels. - spa - changing rooms gross, flies in all showers, steam room not working. These are just the highlights. Wouldn’t recommend, def not worth the money. Will not go again."

"Good location for pre-cruise stay. Excellent views over golf course or cricket ground. Expensive bar prices as you would expect. Food in Beefy's ok. Room large and spotless. What really let it down was the chaos at breakfast. Large queues waiting for tables whilst there were many tables in the restaurant which needed clearing etc. Not as efficient as it could have been."

"Friendly staff at check in. Given a piece of paper per room for times of pool etc … does this change frequently? not very environmentally friendly to print it out each time for each room. Went to use pool and sauna etc to hear one of the staff moaning that a child had poo’ed in the children’s pool and it was now out of action and on top of that the steam room had packed up and no staff. We did use the adult pools and sauna which were fine. We did not eat at the hotel but came back for drinks. I’m glad we didn’t eat as I over heard other guests complaining about their food and the orders leaving one man to wait and eat alone. We were waiting at the bar for a long time to get served our drinks. We sat outside and as it got darker the many lights strung up did not come on. The actual layout and areas available within the hotel were good but the signage could have been a lot better. The rooms were good but heavy duvets for this time of year regardless of the heat wave. There was a kettle with tea coffee etc but no fridge which was a disappointment. Breakfast … not what I expected at all. Not enough staff or attention to detail. Various fruit juices none of which were labelled the orange juice was easy to spot but unsure what the others were. The water was empty and never filled up. There was a lot of mess that wasn’t cleared up, poor choice of coffee from the machines and no where to put teabags etc. I’m not sure how this is a four star hotel our trip was a let down"
