"4/5 Stars ā€“ Great Value with a Few Caveats Overall, Iā€™d give this hotel 4 out of 5 stars. At just over $100 USD per night, I think itā€™s one of the better values in Shinjuku. Iā€™d recommend itā€”and would choose it over APA and several other similarly priced hotelsā€”but there are a few things to know. The location is about a 15-minute walk to Shinjuku Station, with smaller subway entrances much closer. Itā€™s on the edge of the red-light district, but donā€™t let that scare youā€”the area was surprisingly quiet, and my room was silent every night. The service was excellent. Check-in was smooth, housekeeping was outstanding with daily room cleaning, and the staff often cleaned our room shortly after we left. The rooftop bar had reasonable prices, and the breakfast was excellent for around $15 USD. The rooms are small, but thatā€™s typical for Tokyo. Ours felt comparable to a U.S. college dorm room, but it was spotless, well-designed, and had everything we needed. Most complimentary amenities are available in the lobby. My biggest complaints were the laundry facilities and housekeeping hours. There are only three washer/dryer units, so expect to wait. Also, daily housekeeping ends around 1:30 p.m. One day we left around 2:00 p.m., and staff left a sign saying our room couldnā€™t be serviced. I honestly found that unnecessaryā€”simply leaving the ā€œPlease tidy upā€ sign would have been a better approach. Despite those minor issues, Iā€™d absolutely stay here again."
