Overall a great stay for a night with meetings the following day. The bathroom is tired and the bed springs were not comfortable. The room clean and well appointed. Food tasty but lack of veg. Understaffed at breakfast and no coffee for 15 mins........and then I had to ask for it !
It has been some years since we last visited the Marriott Portsmouth and we were delighted to see that it had been refurbished to an excellent standard. The staff were welcoming and friendly making our stay extremely enjoyable.
I was down in Hampshire on business and need a central location just off the motorway network. I previously stayed in a budget hotel and was disappointed with the comfort of the room. I decided to pay a bit more in the hope I got a comfier bed. The Holiday Inn Express was everything that I needed ...
I stayed last weekend with my family on this hotel bed and breakfast.... Lovely hotel and very welcome stuff.. Was alking distance to restaurants and city centre. I will go back again hope this holiday break..
Friendly, welcoming, hospitable staff. Had a great night's sleep in a quiet comfortable room. All areas spotlessly clean. Lovely breakfast and the bar was very inviting. We will definitely return and can highly recommend.
The room was great, had a nice little tea and coffee set up, with biscuits. The beds were very comfortable, had a great nights sleep! Breakfast in the morning was very yummy! Overall cannot fault this place! Was a very enjoyable experience!

However, if you'd rather be near local landmarks and attractions and don't want to blow your entire budget on accommodation, there are plenty of mid-range, family-friendly hotels in Hampshire too. The Hilton Southampton Hotel is well placed to enjoy all that the city has to offer, from the shops, bars and restaurants at the unique West Quay shopping centre, to the New Forest Wildlife Park and the Southampton Guildhall. Similarly, the Holiday Inn Express Southampton West offers unpretentious lodgings and easy access to all these attractions and more. Both these hotels are affordable and attractive places to stay.
Eating out can be a big drain on your budget, when travelling as a family. Booking a room in a family-friendly Hampshire Hotel with a restaurant means that you'll have access to child menus and your room is only a walk or lift-ride away. Not only does the Marwell Hotel, in Winchester, offer just that, but it'll even organise activity packs, children's movies and, as an added bonus, Peppa Pig World is a short drive away.
Hampshire offers fascination and fun for all the family. Booking into a family-friendly hotel is the best way to get the most from your time away from home.
