"We had a great stay at Abbeyfield Guesthouse. Check‑in was smooth, communication was excellent, and the property was very clean. The location felt safe and convenient, and we were always able to find plenty of free street parking in the evenings. The only small suggestion would be to add a mirror in the bathroom — it would make the space even more comfortable. Overall, highly recommended."

"The only issue we’ve experienced about our stay was the cleanliness issues. The whole place could do with a deep deep clean and small touch ups. I believe no matter how much money you pay, you should be able to stay in a clean environment. Apart from the cleanliness, our stay was great. The staff was great and helpful. Fridge was a fantastic bonus. We haven’t used other facilities like dining room etc but I know that was available. No safety on the windows, my son is 5 so he knew not to go near the window when it was open. The towels smelt of damp, which was a shame as the bedding was so fresh and clean. Maybe they need replacing. Lots of on street parking ! Hopefully these comments get taken into consideration. We certainly would consider coming back!"

"We like the size of the room. Both the room, bathroom and room linens clean, but having an open shower in a bathroom that is not a wet room resulted in water spraying everywhere. I was concerned about the risks without proper waterproofing, as moisture can easily damage a building's subfloor. The hotel is tucked away surrounded by a woodland garden. Nice place for a morning stroll. Downside of staying in rooms of the main hotel - was the noise level in an open, older building is at times high and echoey due to the architectural materials of the buildings. The hard surfaces reflect sound waves instead of absorbing them, which significantly amplifies everyday background noise."

"Good stay. Nice lounge/bar area for the evening. Staff were really nice. The room was clean and had good amenities including air con. The only thing that let the stay down was the quality of the bed. If you didn't have a bad back before, you probably would after the night."

"This is a cool, slightly funky/charming British hotel. Lovely decor, not a cookie-cutter hotel. The staff are absolutely excellent. Exterior doors are a bit funny, with various little signs taped up about how to get in and out, and the layout of my room was unique - clearly a re-purposed space. But the bed and bathroom were fantastic. I’d recommend the Mountford for those who want a little taste of proper England for their visit (note: actual British people were staying there, always a good sign!)"
