Location and staff are top.

Posted 13-Jan-2016
Pros: Top trump are the friendly staff. Rooms are very clean.
Cons: It would be great if safes could be added to each room and I understand that rooms further away from reception cannot receive the WIFI signal.
Location: The location is perfect. Close to the beach and the restaurants/shops. Airport is about one hour by taxi.
Our second stay at the Silver Sands Holiday village. The bungalows are pretty basic, but have what you need for a week on the beach. Sitting on the verandah of the bungalow, a lot of other guest walk past and start to chat. The overall atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed.

Nice hotel, literally on the beach.

Posted 01-May-2015
Location: Great location, practically on the beach. Many food shacks on the beach, plenty of choice for eating. Many interesting places to visit with in an hour
Enjoyed the holiday. Staff friendly and helpful, good house keeping. Would recommend to friends and family.

Loud loud loud

Posted 13-Mar-2015 on Hotels
Our room was facing the street with restaurant and loud music, which lasted till 2 AM and then at 7 AM the hotel stuff started with cleaning and they shouted at each other. We stayed 5 nights and all were the same.

Ups and downs!!

Posted 04-Feb-2015 on Hotels
We were given the smallest room on the complex. We had to move the bed about so it wasn't up against the wall and we didn't have to climb over one another to get put. We had to constantly move things about to enable us to dry hair, get ready etc due to lack of surfaces. We tried to change rooms on 2 occasions, the first time we were told it might be possible in 5 days, nobody got back to us, on the 2nd time I enquired, a member of the management staff interrupted our conversation to discuss another matter with the staff member!! We were also ripped off with the money exchange service at the complex. We needed to exchange some money the day we arrived, thankfully we only exchanged £100 as the complex only gave 87 rupees in comparison to 94 rupees that the so called rip off exchange places were giving!!. Having said all of the above, the Silver Sands is in a fab location, the staff can't do enough for you they are superb and more than made up for the negatives. We would definately return here but NOT in the same room.

A decent hotel Close to the beach

Posted 22-Jan-2015 on Hotels
The location of the hotel is the best part of it. The hotel landscaping and the gardens, pathways are very well maintained. However, the rooms are NOT very well maintained with bare minimum amenities. So if one is not looking for luxury in the room this is possibly the best option due to its proximity to beach. Be prepared with cash, as most of the time the credit card machine does not work. The Manager of the hotel is a very helping and friendly person; other staffs are also friendly and pleasant; however, in my next trip I will avoid the lady staff at the frond desk. She can spoil your holiday.

Great location

This hotel has a wonderful location, very close to the beach. As well the service was excellent, although it usually is in India. On the other hand, it seemed overpriced compared to other hotels I have stayed at in India (although this was the only one I stayed in in Goa.). As well the power sometimes went off and the wifi was poor.

A great destination to unwind

Posted 06-Dec-2014
Loved my stay at Holiday Village. The place is really cloae to the Candolim beach which is clean and has silver sands. The place is mostly inhabited by foreigners and is clean and peaceful. The staff is prompt and quick in service. A taxi stand is located just opposite to the hotel.

Not as promised

Posted 08-Nov-2014
The staff at the hotel though somewhat pleasant, yet didn't make up for the terrible housekeeping of the rooms. We had two cottages and both were in an extremely dilapidated condition. Worst being there were cockroaches in the rooms!!!!! Food strictly ok. This hotel will not get any recommendations from me to my friends except for the only reason being it is very close to the beach. Stay here to be avoided.
