The Royal Victoria Hotel

"We spent two nights in the Coach House in early July and found it clean and comfortable. Our room was accessible by a relatively steep and narrow set of stairs, which was fine for us but could be an issue for travelers with mobility issues or a lot of luggage. There is no air conditioning but a fan was provided (though given then outlet locations, we weren't able to position it in a very helpful location). The location of the hotel is great and we were able to walk to the bus stop to take the bus to the Pen y Pass trailhead, and then back down the Llanberis Path directly to the hotel. Breakfast was nice and included a good selection of hot and cold items (eggs, hash browns, toast, fruit, cereal, etc.) and beverages. We enjoyed afternoon snacks, drinks and dinner in the bar area and picnic tables outside. There weren't many places open for a late lunch or early dinner in town so we spent most of our free time at the hotel. The demographic while we were there was a bit strange - lots of elderly folks who appeared to be part of a tour group. Not sure if that's typical, but it made it feel a little like we were staying in a retirement home."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Waterloo Lodge Hotel. Surprisingly upgraded on arrival to a lodge room with patio. It was nice to have some outside space. Room was spotless & quiet, bed comfortable and we slept really well. The addition of a mini bar would be useful but other than that, the amenities were very good. We didn't use the pool or gym but ate in the restaurant 1 night as closed on Monday & Tuesday evenings. This wasn't an issue as there are plenty of good pubs and restaurants within 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Breakfasts at the hotel are excellent and cooked to order with good quality produce. The outside areas would benefit from a bit of attention but we will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely stay :)"

"This was a stay mainly to see the area not to use the facilities but the gym looked good . I wanted to use the pool one evening but it was closed at 6 when i went so beware of that . Food was great and good value . Breakfast was excellent with a good choice . Excellent room for wheelchair users which my wife is . Brilliant wet room and excellent all round . Parking good also ."

"Breakfast was beautiful. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking was convenient. Building had character and well maintained. Lovely stay definitely stay again close to everything. "

"As a visually impaired single person i was a little worried, but i needn’t have been . Staff were courteous and helpful as soon as i walked in. Very pleased with room, plenty of space bright and airy, shower a little small, however ok, good water flow and hot. Breakfast buffet style, excellent choice, felt comfortable being on my own (very important) . Had excellent stay , will be back , thank-you everyone"

"This was my first visit. It’s a community owned hotel, run by locals who raised a lot of money to take it over and open it up again. They have done a great job. My room was spotless and I told my wife I needed sunglasses on the bedding was so white. A large shower in the en-suite was very welcome after a long day. I had my evening meal there and it was very good,"
