"This is not your premium 5 star experience but appears to be priced accordingly - value for money, excellent. The hotel lacks technology - a paucity of plugs and USB ports in the rooms - but makes up with quiet rooms, amazing views and super showers. The breakfast is good but disappointing fresh juice was extra. The wifi a shocker - is the Chinese censored version so most sites - BBC news, WhatsApp, Facbook etc - are blocked."

"The Conrad Shanghai was a great property to stay as a first time traveler to China specifically to Shanghai. It was central to everything, restaurants, shopping, and transportation. It is like staying in Times Square in NYC, but it was best for myself amd wife. There are other hotels not far from Nanjing Road but I didn't know the distance from there and the Bund. Again I would suggest thay yu as first time traveler stay the Conrad. Also the breakfast at Lane 11 was excellent."

"My five-day stay at the InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin was wonderful. The hotel’s location put shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. I booked a one-bedroom suite that felt simply massive, with beautiful, bright décor and a lovely view of the garden and water fountain. The expansive gardens themselves were breathtaking. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, and because everyone spoke English, communication was effortless. Breakfast was outstanding, offering an impressive variety of both Chinese and Western dishes. The Executive Lounge was equally impressive—beautifully appointed, with a wonderful selection of teas and sweets during the day and a generous array of savory hors d’oeuvres in the evening. Overall, the hotel was exceptionally generous with food and drinks. I highly recommend the InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin and would gladly return."

"The Westin Bund Center in Shanghai is a wonderful hotel. The location was very convenient to both Yu Garden and Nanjing Road. Staff was very helpful and was eager to help us. Breakfast was good and staff was attentive to our needs."
