Discovered a little gem....
What a lovely place to stay. Was warmly welcomed on arrival and shown to our room, which was large, comfortable, welcoming and clean. The guest house does not have residents parking, but there is safe parking facilities at the side of the accommodation and had absolutely no issues with leaving my car there. The breakfast / dining room is cosy and the breakfast was very nice as well. Hunmanby is such a nice little village and is around 3 or 4 miles outside of Filey, so was a good base to use whilst exploring the area. The bakers shop next door to the guest house is well worth a visit. Everything looked rustic and very, very tempting. Thank you so much to Chris and his wife looking after us.

Family holiday in The Southgate Bed and Breakfast
The Southgate is a superb bed and breakfast establishment. After a friendly greeting on arrival we were shown the excellent family suite. The room was large, bright and beautifully furnished. Every possible facility was provided and everything was spotlessly clean. Towels were changed regularly. The breakfast menu was extensive, beautifully cooked and again everything was spotlessly clean and served in a friendly manner. Assistance was given with luggage both on arrival and departure. Overall it was impossible to fault the establishment or the hosts and for value for money could not be beaten. We will return. Enid,Tony and Lorraine Hayes

Can't fault this great B&B
We were greeted by our very friendly hosts Chris and Julie. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with a comfy bed and lovely walk in shower. Breakfast was delicious. I would thoroughly recommend it. I would advise booking somewhere to eat as its a busy village. This is 5 star, I couldn't fault it

Very welcoming hosts who have clearly paid attention to every detail in their bnb. The place has a very nice, high quality finish and they work hard to ensure you enjoy your stay. Great location for us, near to Filey. Very nice bnb, personal highlight - dvd player and dvd collection, free to use 👍

Best bed and breakfast we have stayed at for a while . The host was very welcoming. The room was unbelievably spacious. The only gripe wascthe pillows , but this is a minor issue . I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast

Outstanding b and b.
The southgate was immaculate. The dining area was spotless. The suite was spacious, clean, modern with all facilities, very homely and well thought out. Everything to a high standard, could not fault the southgate. The hosts were amazing and very friendly, made sure are stay was enjoyable. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

Stunning room, brilliant service
Beautiful place with awesome service. Large and comfortable room, excellent layout. Large bathroom with walk-in shower. Good wifi. Very clean - we were never rushed for housekeeping to get in (seems to happen in many places, so very welcome change) but room was always done when we got back. Quiet location, but still a good choice of pubs, restaurants and take-aways within a minute's walk. Owners went above and beyond, showed a genuine interest and really made us feel at home. Breakfast was phenomenal. The only minor criticism I have is that we had to share one key for the room, and as we didn't always go out together, that required a bit of coordination.

Really comfortable stay and the owners are brilliant at making you feel welcome. I've started to stay here when in the area for work now thanks to their warm welcome and superior service. The hotel is small, but has everything any sane person would need for a really comfortable trip/stay.

Great value and service in an excellent location.
There was nothing to complain about here. Very friendly and helpful hosts is a lovely village with plenty of eating options within walking distance. Hosts went out of their way to cater for all your needs. Breakfast very nice, room very clean, good WiFi, everything you could want, including silence for a good nights sleep and an enjoyable stay. Wouldn't hesitate to go there again if I am in the area.

Very nice stay.
Two nights stop . Very nice welcome from Chris and Julie. Lovely room. Clean and a lovely comfy bed. Looking out onto road but no road noise as all double glazed. Found it quiet and we slept well. Breakfast was very good. Plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend this very nice B and B. Lovely village with plenty of places to eat and drink.
