"The property was in pleasant grounds, in an attractive village. There are a number of b and b rooms in the barn which is now an annex to the main house. The room had a high ceiling so was airy and spacious. The ensuite shower room was too. The bed could be a double or two singles so was large size and we found to be comfortable. "My daughter and I stayed in the Orme lodge, it was lovely. Nice and warm, squirrels outside the windows. Hot tub is just a hot tub - not one with bubbles! so don't look for a button to press lol Very peaceful. If you go with kids (i went with teenager) then maybe take a laptop to watch netflix etc on. wifi connection great. "A tired icon. Full of history, with the entrance and ballroom jewels to behold. The bar is smart and well priced too. However my room - standard double - was very poor. Chipped basin, exposed pipes, holes in the wall, broken loo seat, ceiling cracks, and faded mismatching paint on the walls. Staff were friendly but towels weren’t replaced, and they failed to bring the pillow I requested. They don’t clean rooms supposedly to be sustainable but it feels like it’s just to cut corners and save pennies. Well priced for the city but I couldn’t say I’d recommend due to the condition of the room."
