"Sharon is a wonderfully accommodating host, very friendly and professional, and eager to share useful local knowledge. The room was spacious, warm, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast options are variable and delicious. There is on street parking opposite for people with cars, we had no problem parking and the car was visible from our room. We would definitely stay at the Burnside again and can highly recommend it."

"Room 2 is cozy and comfortable. Both room and ensuite were very clean and welcoming. Breakfast is cooked to order and our hosts were very friendly and informative. We got a chance to join in the feeding of the owls, visit the rabbit hutch, talk with the parrot and pet the dogs. The place is a little sanctuary for animals of all types. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again the next time we visit the area."

"I stayed for 1 night. I have used many B & B's, so was a little apprehensive. However, all that apprehension was a waste of energy. The B & B was lovely and the staff very nice. I did not score 5 on all points due to a couple of very minor issues. I had a double room no. 24 on the third floor. Please note no lift - So if you have climbed Helvellyn you may not want to take the extra steps up. Room and bathroom were cleaned to a high standard. "Fantastic location & views. Very basic which let it down. Not great when you travelled 4hrs on the road & not find any milk in fridge for a cup of tea. Lovely shower but all the mould let it down (even the fake plant was covered in mould). Tiny bath towels and no blind on window,Hole in fence has not been fixed but some broken chairs put in front which didn't take my dogs long to figure out & no outside light in garden so i had to use my phone torch to make sure they did not escape at night....
