Bayswell Park Hotel

"The rooms were very comfortable, clean and quiet. Our group of 4 had excellent service and a great breakfast. We only stayed one night and wish we could have be there multiple days. The location was very convenient to explore Dunbar by foot. Would highly recommend this hotel to others."

"Beautiful hotel with excellent facilities and a nice atmosphere, breakfast was one of the best I've had. Staff were all friendly and extremely helpful, nothing too much trouble. The views are exceptional, just wish I could have stayed longer."

"The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The communal areas were well decorated and clean. The food was of a very good standard, especially the breakfast. The only slight downside, the decor in the bedroom was very tired (nothing a quick coat of paint wouldn't cure) and the long route to the rooms could cause problems for older people or those with mobility issues. On the whole a very pleasant stay and we would revisit if we return to Melrose. Recommended."
Dryburgh Abbey Hotel

"This property is in a quiet place right next to Dryburgh Abbey. It's a great location to explore the other abbeys and small towns in the area. The rooms were quite large with large bathrooms. It's an old building, so the floors slope, which for us, added to the charm. The restaurant is very good for dinner. If I'm ever in the area again, I would definitely stay there."
Schloss Roxburghe Golf Resort, Part of Destination by Hyatt

"Outstanding service, food, amenities and grounds. We enjoyed our 5 days at Schloss Roxburghe immensely which made it truly difficult to tear ourselves away. The Golf course is spectacular and the views of the rolling hills, ancient bridge and cattle in the distance are so delightful. Nod to the lovely staff at both the clubhouse and estate. The dinner at Charlie's was superb and Sunlaws was exceptional. The service we received throughout our stay was so welcoming and first class. We could have spent the whole day at the wonderful spa so I can appreciate why there is a 4 hour limit. I would also add that the town of Kelso is close by and we enjoyed shopping and dining there as well. Looking forward to returning to Schloss Roxburghe!"

"A beautiful,atmospheric place to stay,giving a sense of what living in a historic Scottish country house would be like-not least how chilly it can be in the early autumn before the fires would be lit. Our stay was very enjoyable, helped by the efficient and pleasant staff. Our room was comfortable if a little out of the way up in the roof space but we would have liked more lamps, more hooks and shelves for toiletries and we did not need the large green light pointing the way out to the corridor and safety. Excellent breakfast(including haggis). Lovely grounds and building with a great library,music room,whisky bar to explore."
