An expensive 'budget' hotel.

Posted 04-Apr-2017
Pros: Not much.
Cons: Everything.
Wouldn't stay here again. Very basic Breakfast. Bar lunches were not available within the designated times. Big room but with two ironing boards & two irons, a portable fan & electric radiator in it, it felt like a store room. One radiator was permanently on full blast and couldn’t be turned down or off. The macerator toilet was not conducive with a hotel, too noisy. There was no bath mat or sanitary bags. This hotel needs a huge update to compete with other hotels of a similar price. We didn’t expect luxury but we did expect value for money.

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Paint woodwork externally and update bedrooms with furniture of the day. Bathroom very dated and basic
A very tired looking hotel badly in need of painting externally. Room very basic with minimum facilities as was bathroom. Newish curtains and carpet and very clean but for price updates are badly needed. Staff very helpful and food good. F l

AVOID AT ALL COST

After being forced to move room once because of the unhygenic nature of the room we then moved to a room where the water came out brown. If you value your life and mental well being do not stay here!!

Dreadful Experience

Posted 27-Oct-2016 on Hotels
Almost cooked alive! The room and corridors were unbearably hot despite no radiators towel rail being switched on. We had to sleep without covers over us as it was dreadful. We opened the sash window to see a flat roof full of rubbish cigarette butts beer bottle tops broken coat hangers and general rubbish We daren't leave the window open as felt it could be unsafe throughout the night so slowly toasted instead. The grinding noise from the extract fans continued endlessly throughout the night. (Next doors hotel was blamed for this problem) The chair back was broken and my husband almost fell backwards from it. There was no replenishment to the showergel so a soapless shower ensued. Room 13: has 3 steep steps up into the bathroom which smelt of stale urine. The hot water tap scalded you. We visited the bar to be deafened by the evenings entertainment a singer holding a guitar but taped music accompanied him. It was excruciating in parts. Parking is a nightmare and you will pay £3 extra if you are lucky enough to find a space. Seems to be frequented by coach trips. Wifi only available in the bar.

Convenient and clean hotel

Posted 26-Oct-2016 on Hotels
I wanted a cheap overnight stay with easy car parking. The room was rather dated but clean and spacious. The bed was firm but comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. Good value and I would stay again.

So you get what you pay for. Take ear plugs.

Pros: Clean and friendly staff
Cons: Thin walls
Location: 10/15 minute walk to center
The room was clean and a bargin. I stayed after a night out in Bournemouth, But the other guests in the hotel also got a bargin and also stayed after a night out. So I spent most of the night listening to drunk people walking up and down the stairs and shouting. So note to anyone staying in this hotel. Take ear plugs, the walls are thin

Pleasant personal experience

Posted 15-Oct-2016
Pros: helpfull staff
Cons: poor Wifi
Location: Good location in walking distance to the sea.
We booked a last minute double room and got an en-suite twin room on the ground floor at the back of the building, which turned out to be much more modern than some other rooms we booked before in the same hotel. The following night I wanted to book a single room and hotel staff was very helpfull and gave me one of the nicer rooms on the first floor for a bargain. From experience I know that you could also get rooms which are very old fashioned, with dated furniture and ugly carpets and in urgent need for refurbishment! A real drawback in this hotel is the poor Wifi connection, you only have it very near the reception.

A hotel to be avoided.

The night staff were unhelpful and made checking in a nightmare. I stayed for 2 nights, but the room was not serviced at all on one day. I would not stay here again unless I was desperate!
