Overpriced, run down hotel, and in major need of a refurbishment. Room was in a terrible state of repair. The bed was smaller than a double. The bathroom was dirty. The television was a big CRT screen, a flashback to the past, with the basic 6 channels. Would not stay again.

Handy location

Posted 02-Nov-2015
Pros: cheap room rate
Cons: needs a refurbishment
Location: Handy to walk down to the beach via the Cliff Lift. minutes into town centre
My Daughter and I visited Bournemouth University open day recently. Stayed one night in room 8. The room was in need of some modernisation, and looked out onto a brick wall with a light that stayed on all night! Shower was ok, but again needs some TLC. Parking is limited but was able to park in the car park albeit not in a bay. Had only booked the room but was able to pay for breakfast( £7 p/p). Food was ok set out in a buffet style. On the whole it was a cheap stop over and served a purpose. Noisy other guests could be in any hotel but did not upset our night.

Great position near the East Cliff. Helpful staff.

Pros: Proximity to sea. Rate of £30 plus £3 parking. Helpful staff.
Cons: Wall clean up coffee stains. Bedside table.
Location: Beach - 2 minutes walk.
Map provided for route to Crematorium. Food was good. Room satisfactory. A bedside table to put phone, spectacles upon would have been haelpful.

Pros: it was very nice and homely
Cons: toilet facilities in the room, and heating too hot
Location: it was very handy for the beach but a steep incline, but a lift was available at £1.30 a time to get down to the beah
our room was very hot, and at 5.30 in the morning a large fan cut in making it impossible to have a lie in, the toilet needed attention as did not always flush, other wise it was a very nice stay, and the staff were all very friendly. the rooms were serviced every day and new towels left, and the cleanliness was very good, would always stay again,(perhaps in a different room away from the fan) Dere

Wouldn't go there or recommend this hotel

Stayed in family room with my husband and two children (aged 1 and 4) bathroom was dirty and the room was in need of repair and update. Every time the bathroom was used above us water poured out of a gap in the ceiling and onto live plug sockets and lighting. Staff didn't seem bothered, highly dangerous

Pros: Great location as close to the Indian restaurant we booked into for my husbands birthday.
Cons: Attention to cleaning, upgrade the TV.
Location: Great walking distance to the Eye of The Tiger Indian Restaurant
Location great, staff pleasant, But The room was a disgrace and not very clean, tissue left on floor, dusty lamps, one lamp not working, the TV should be in a museum, no bath mat in bath resulting me to slip, no wardrobe but a rail to high for me to reach. Definately not a three star hotel and not worth the price we paid for a Saturday night.

Not the best

This is the first time ever I have written a review of our stay in a hotel we stayed at the hotel for just one night and found the room not to a good standard. My husband and me come to Bournemouth every year for the last five years.. but my husband has been coming with his parents for over 15yrs. We even had our honeymoon in Bournemouth. On this visit we wanted to show my mother who lives aboard where we normally go for our holidays. so There was my mother, my husband, our 2yr old daughter and myself. when we got to the hotel at first sight was shocked how beautiful the hotel was the reception was like a 5* hotel... then when we got to our room (310) our thoughts of the hotel went down hill really quickly. we found the following 1. Curtains falling off the walls 2. No Telephone in the room 3. Toilet roll holder was out of reach 4. Toilet don't flush very well 5. Paint drips on wall tiles 6. wardrobe doors damaged 7. Main door hard to keep open when your trying to bring suitcases/luggage in and out 8. Lack of milk from reception 9. some lights not working 10. Bed side shelf very flimsy 11. Had trouble trying to remove key from the lock when we first arrived 12. Lift Very cramped when you have suitcases/luggage IE 2 adults suitcases and a 2yr old

Lifts are too small. Rooms smelt, bathroom tiles were falling off. Very dissapointed overall.
