"We absolutely loved our week at Spyglass! The home has the feel of a traditional Saba cottage, with some of the BEST views in the Caribbean. We love this small island. The hiking is amazing, the diving is world class, and we love the local food. The home is in a private location, very peaceful and quiet. We would definitely choose to stay here again. If you lead an active lifestyle and enjoy walking/hiking, you can easily walk to the main areas in the village of Windwardside where the local shops and restaurants are. We enjoyed the spectacular views of each sunrise and sunset with a good book in hand. We'll be back soon!"

"The new owners are working hard to refresh this historic property. The seaside location is a gem and the staff members are friendly and attentive (special shout-out to Julia). The full breakfast is a wonderful benefit, and my mahi-mahi dinner was absolutely delicious! An added bonus is the proximity to another excellent restaurant, as well as a scuba center for those who come to Statia to dive. Thanks to Peter and Jeanette and your amazing staff!"

"Golden Rock Resort is truly golden!! An absolute gem on a little known island! The property itself is gorgeous with amazing landscaping everywhere. All accommodations are lovely but we particularly enjoyed our villa for space, convenience, beauty & view. The best part, however, is the people. All of the staff were kind & truly made us feel like family. Sally & Sophie sold us on this property at a travel show and we will be forever grateful - they went above & beyond for us (and all of their guests) and have become our new sisters!! Don’t hesitate to spend a week enjoying all that Golden Rock & Statia have to offer!!"

"We loved this place, even if part of the appeal was in knowing that other people would be too spoiled or uptight to deal with the long stairs, the uphill walk home from the restaurants, the composting toilet, the occasional visit from the cat, etc. The proprietors are very sincere, personable and helpful and have a great sense of humor. Prices are better than fair. The pool is a great asset and the breakfasts are solid. If you think of the rooms as forest cabins instead of a "hotel," it feels glamorous. We heartily recommend this place."

"Hemmie is one of the best hosts I’ve ever met! He made me feel so at home from day 1. I was on the island for an exam and Hemmie made my stay less stressful by serving delicious breakfast every morning and offering to give me free dinner. He even offered to drive me to and from school, which was a bonus! The place itself is just marvellous! All the antique furnitures made me feel like I was really on vacation. The view is also breathtaking! You go out to the balcony and you see the ocean along with the view of the island. If you want to visit Saba, you have to stay at Selera’s. Not only is Hemmie a wonderful host, the hotel itself is beautiful and so so peaceful! "
