"Nice hotel convenient for places of interes"
The hotel accommodation was very good, clean and spacious room and good food. My only criticism was the folk singer who performed in the bar below our room. Although he sang well we felt that an 11pm finish rather than midnight would have been preferable particularly as breakfast was at 8.30 prompt with no flexibility!!

"Friendly Hosts Great Food"
We recieved a great welcome at this very friendly Inn. Our room was comfortable and full of character. They had been extremely busy at lunch time but the chef came out to speak to us and cooked us an evening meal of our choice which was delicious! The breakfast was ample and tasty. We ate in a beautiful panneled room full of interesting things. Maybe not to everybodys taste but we loved it. Do not stay here if your taste leans towards the corporate!

"A wonderful retreat!"
My husband and I stayed at Sheldon's Retreat during the Summer and we loved it. The village of Sheldon is small and quiet and makes a perfect base for exploring. The B&B itself is lovely. Our hosts were so welcoming and the room just right! The breakfasts there are vegetarian (one of the selling points for me) but even the biggest of meat eaters (my husband) thoroughly enjoyed his cooked breakfast every day! We hope to visit again soon!

"Small but clean"
A little bit disappointed with the accommodation as the room was small but very clean. The bathroom was separate, the other side of the staircase which meant that as the breakfast room was next to the room on the other side, other visitors could bump into you when they came down for breakfast and you might be in your dressing gown. One of the other rooms had a bathroom en suite but the other bedroom had a separate bathroom too. There were two other B&Bs in the village so I do not know what they were like, although one of them had four rooms with en suite bathrooms. The breakfast was very good and freshly cooked.

"Quaint historical hotel in spectacular setting."
Our stay at the Old Inn was a last minute decision after trawling through other choices. We could not have been happier with our decision. The Old Inn was an amazing find. It is in a gorgeous little village with views of the surrounding peaks from every aspect. The Inn is an old and quaint stone building that seems small from the outside but goes on and on in the inside. Beautiful beams and old lattice windows feature. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. Our room had all modern amenities, and the ensuite bathroom was gorgeous with a lovely rolled top bath, shower, sandstone tiles and very nice complimentary toiletries. The meals we ate at the Inn were of high end restaurant quality and were delicious. The choice for breakfast was also a surprise. I am a vegetarian and was spoilt for choice. We cannot fault The Old Inn and intend to go back.
