2/5 Poor

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities
The room itself was dated. needed a thorough wipe down and clean of the room itself. There were tooth picks and rubbish in the drawers, cobwebs and dust throughout the room. Understood this is an old listed building, but single glazed. The bathroom felt it was part of a 90's hospital. The bath water doesnt go away, partially blocked and everytime i showered i had to be standing in flooded water which was not great considering the bathrooms cleanliness looks like a public toilet. I really didnt want to touch anything as I felt the floor was dirty with black dirt or mold in every corner, walls and ceiling had cobwebs. This does not reflect the £110 i paid for the room. It was worth £40 max. By far the worst hotel i stayed in my life. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and on all different budgets. I felt I paid premium price because of it's location, but what i got was a single occupancy public hostel. If you are charging over £100 atleast clean the room and bathroom properly!

Better than expected
After reading a few reviews, we did wonder what it would be like, but we had a great stay, the staff were very attentive and answered any questions we had, they were very friendly and professional. The room was nice and big and although we could hear the fans outside, it really wasn't a big deal. The room was nice and clean and had plenty of room for our possessions. The breakfast was lovely, the food was cooked to perfection and all came out in a timely manner, we also had the Sunday Roast and it was really good, so much food we couldn't manage a pudding. The restaurant was clean and everyone was well spaced out. All in all it was a great stay and we would stay there again.
