Red Lion Review
I have stayed here many times and it never disappoints. Rooms and all areas extremely clean. Staff always polite and friendly. Food always up to a high standard. It is a pleasure to stay here and can be highly recommended.

Not the hotel it used to be!
This hotel is not the place it used to be. I have stayed here since it opened in 2016 and it has declined. Certain members of staff are also very abrupt like they don’t want to be there and that everything is a hassle for them. The cleanliness in the rooms has also declined unfortunately. Extremely disappointing.

Disappointing stay
A rather disappointing stay. Decorating was being done and I think this should have been mentioned after the booking as a "heads up". Due to this there was paint being stored in the hallway and the floors in the hallways were uncarpeted. The fridge was incredibly loud at night so I ended up taking the plug out. The continental breakfast did not include some things as stated on the breakfast sheet. It was expensive for what it is and would not stay here again. Food was good and they brought the food to my room which was appreciated but many things on the menu seemed overpriced.

The Red Lion is an excellent traditional English country pub. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food was very good. The bedrooms have been refurbished recently and are simple but very comfortable with modern, clean shower rooms. Only one plea.....please put some shelves or a flat surface around the sink so there is somewhere to put bathroom items, tooth brushes creams etc!!!! Otherwise very well done.

Easy check in and check out, staff very friendly - showed us to our room and the amenities. Lovely breakfast in a box with freshly baked croissant, fresh milk in the fridge and tea/coffee supplies! Evening food smelled delicious although didn’t eat there. Overall a really lovely stay!!

Nice room in pretty location, stayed in napolean room. Need some shelves around sink area for toiletries. Mat needed in shower room as slippery Cooked breakfasts only available sat and sun from 08.30, no good to me as leaving 07.30. Continental breakfast provided for above days. Only continental available mon-friday this was never mentioned.

The Red Lion us fantastic. We stayed in Tawny...the room was so pretty. Lovely big walk in shower..comfy bed...fridge, and plentiful supplies of tea and coffee etc. Breakfast was great with locally sourced produce, freshly cooked. Our only suggestion is that Tawny could benefit from a full length mirror. Will definately be back x

Very accommodating hosts with excellent food and range of wines. The only thing we could fault was perhaps better orange juice at breakfast and somewhere around the washbasin to put wash bags etc

Very comfortable stay, friendly staff and Percy is the star. Food good. Breakfast disappointing if you want a cooked breakfast, not on offer. Garden and outside facility good. Plenty parking.
