"Very good. Nice bar area. The room I had was very dated but for the price I can't complain. Staff were helpful so would stay again"

Coombe Abbey Hotel

Coombe Abbey Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful hotel with friendly staff and excellent food. The lighting in the room and bathroom was poor - nice subtle lights were restful but there was no option for a brighter light when needed for makeup etc. also very few power points in the room . However the room was well heated, very comfortable bed and quiet too. The walks in the parkland were amazing"

Village Hotel Coventry

10/10 Excellent
"Large restaurant with nice food, though very open so car get really loud. Nice large rooms, with very comfortable beds/pillows. Easy to plugin HDMI devices to the TV - I brought my firestick. Loads of parking, but can fill up really quickly as it has a public gym and pool, so parking can be tricky. Empties out later on."

Hylands Hotel

Hylands Hotel

8/10 Good
"cheap and cheerful, the bed was really comfy and clean and it was nice to just camp out in my room with a brew after a long day at work/on the road. The shower wasn't powerful but it did the job each morning. Parking is shared with the indigo restaurant so during peak times its hard to get a parking spot but all was good later on when i tried again. Close enough to amenities/city centre if you have a car."

Royal Court Hotel

"Very comfortable stay at the hotel. Room had everything we needed, even I-player on the TV! We ate at the hotel for our evening meal, and was not overly impressed with the food. It was good value, all things considering, but was not expecting a buffet style help yourself meal, which looked like it had been sitting there for too long and was a bit tasteless. A bit of a surprise considering how 'upmarket posh' the rest of the hotel looks."

Telegraph Hotel - Coventry

Telegraph Hotel - Coventry

8/10 Good
"This is a character filled hotel. It is stylish and wall decoration includes large old photographs of the days of the paper. The atrium roofed dining room is beautiful with a border of old newspaper pages between the ceiling and glass roof. Rooms are very nice with wood features and a pleasant colour palette. Bathroom has a nice large shower. Unfortunately the breakfast disappointed. The coffee machines served undrinkable latte and the worst hotel coffee I have ever tasted. I tried the pork sausages and they disintegrated into an unpleasant paste and they were salty. The other items were ok. I arrived 9am with still an hour and a half of time left and there was no scrambled egg left, there were no Danish pastries and the only fruit pieces were 1 apple and maybe a pear. I got my awful coffee and sat down watching the two staff standing ready to take guest room numbers. They were friendly and cleared tables very efficiently but it was clear they had not been allocated separate jobs including checking the buffet and letting the kitchen know when dishes are low. I had to tell them. The eggs thankfully came out quickly. On day two there were three staff and the scrambled eggs dish was empty, as was the mushrooms and the Danish. Two staff stood taking room numbers or clearing tables, the third took special orders. I did not see them proactively getting items replenished and had to tell them again. The eggs had to be cooked and the Danish never arrived. Poor management, not staff."

"Lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room and high quality restaurant. Only downside was the very expensive parking, which should really be included with the hotel booking."
