"Had to pay a 20 pound early check in charge pp, its 10 pound every hour you want to check in so bear that in mind. But overall was good bedroom, comfy bed, good blinds to keep sun out, shower was ok, mot great or powerful but does it's job. "

No parking, though I thought there was (I guess I misread the information about this place), nearest parking was just round the corner and cost £8 overnight, i.e. 24 hours. This was recommended by the staff when we arrived, not knowing where to park. Next day I asked at nearby Waitrose about free parking and they helpfully pointed out several on-street free parking marked bays which were...

"We booked this room as we were going to a restaurant in the next village and rather get a taxi from.home decided to stay more local. The pub which own the rooms is a beautiful country pub, with good food. The rooms are immaculately kept. Clean and fresh. There are tea and coffee facilities in the room. If you need an irion you can request this. Breakfast is not included i the price, however they supply, porridge and breakfast biscuits in the room for you. I would recommend this place to anyone,...

"This was a lovely overnight spot. Rooms were well appointed with nice amenities. Clean and cozy. Breakfast was good, especially appreciated meal was included. Highly recommend. "

"The arrival at The Knife and Cleaver was wonderful. Staff helped me with the luggage and room 9 was both clean and impressive. Nice seperate seating area and outside patio was a bonus in the room. Well equipped and warm. WiFi was not so good but free inside the pub. We ate at the restaurant for the two nights. Food was okay first night. Second night not so good. No atmosphere either and staff consistently just giggling or calling you guys! All in all, the hotel side of the pub was well worth...

"The accommodation was really very nice, clean and comfortable. My only comment was the breakfast first morning ok but the second morning they had run out if 2 of the cereal choices and also Hash browns. The staff were lovely but I must say I was disappointed that morning as we were leaving to go home and we were unable to enjoy the breakfast that should have been available. "

TV aerial cable draped over light fittings, and personally I would’ve liked blackout curtains as the room was very illuminated from outside lighting. but that said I would definitely stay there again. "Excellent location for our day at Hatfield House. Only one drawback was that we had to enter our rooms via the fire escape which had 2 flights of metal stairs which was quite difficult in the rain carrying suitcases. Otherwise everything else was good. The staff were lovely and very professional."

"Why do hotel designers think it is OK to have an ensuite bathroom with no door? A curtain is not an adequate replacement for a door. This was a big issue for us. Also the only seating in our room was 1 dining chair and 1 stool when there was room for something more comfortable. I don't want to have to sit on the bed, particularly at the price this hotel came in at. Everything else was very good."

"What a welcome, such friendly pleasant hosts. The room was clean, cosy and warm and just what we needed after an horrendous journey! Atmosphere pleasant and food freshly cooked. Thank you would most definitely stay here again, I’m not into big, bland corporate hotels."

"Chalet dated but very clean and well equipt. Fabulous location and we sat outside on the decking frequently. Very close to a main trainline into London but we knew this as visiting friends having previously lived in Broxbourne. Didn't bother us. Sofa not comfortable to sit & enjoy TV. Very hard. Only other negative was the twin beds. Despite the mattress toppers, the springs in the mattresses have gone. They do need replacing. Sadly we had an uncomfortable few nights sleep! "
