"The hotel and staff are amazing. A little quaint at first but that definitely grows on you. Tony the pianist was fantastic and played almost 5 hours solid with just a very short break. Reception area for check in/out is very odd like you are not sure you're doing things right. Breakfast was a major disappointment - the full Scottish was stingy in portion size (half a slice of bacon, skinny sausage and dry potato scone) and the guacamole for eggs benedict seemed shop bought. The room, gardens and surroundings were beautiful. Will come back but little areas to improve on."

I got there early and they kept my bags safe for me and when I came back to check in, they were waiting for me in my room! The restaurant on site was top quality with delicious options for dinner and breakfast! Will absolutely be coming back here!"

"We had a great stay here recently. We stayed in Room 4 which is a tad unusual as it has no window in the main area. There is a window in the bathroom so you can have natural light provided the door is open. Not a problem for us tbh as the room was completely dark overnight. The room is quite basic with a small TV and a double bed (at home we have a king size, so it was smaller than we are used to). It was spotlessly clean. We had a good meal in the bar, a couple of drinks which was competitively priced. Service was excellent and friendly. Pooch was made welcome too. Breakfast was also really good although the sausage was a little bland and at odds with the quality of the bacon and black pudding. Once again our dog was allowed in the restaurant area too. So to conclude: an excellent stopover that is very dog friendly, lovely staff, good food and a reasonably comfy room all for £75. We would stay again when in the area. Thanks "
