"This was terrific value for money and would happily stay again. While it's a good 15 mins or so up a hill from the station, for £40 or so, there's nothing at all to complain about- big rooms with cooking facilities, microwave and even a dishwasher should you need it, a lovely swimming pool and staff who were knowlegable and extremely helpful; particularly Guaytan , who couldn't have been more efficient and personable. All in all, very good."

Top Clermont-sur-Lauquet Hotel Reviews

Hôtel Le Donjon - Coeur de la Cité Médiévale

8/10 Good

"The hotel was wonderful. The property itself was very interesting in a brilliant location. What let it down was the state of the bedroom and the bathroom. In a four-star hotel, you do not expect mold in the bathroom and stains and bald spots on the carpets in the bedroom. A nice hotel, a great location, but perhaps a little bit of updating needed in one of the bedrooms."

Hotel l'Octroi

8/10 Good

"The room was clean and staff very helpful. However, the room is very small and the bathroom is a wet room, meaning no separate shower from the rest of the bathroom. The shower wand is not user friendly and we didn’t realize when we turned on the water that it lterally sprayed across the room, wetting our bathroom countertop and personal items. No coffee in the room if you like having a cup first thing in the morning."

Résidence Carmina

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel is perfectly situated for visiting the medieval city of Carcassonne. If you are looking for a central hotel at a reasonable price this is the perfect choice. The room was a spacious apartment with separate living/kitchenette and bedroom. The bathroom was spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the apartment was well furnished and clean. The residents of the hotel were friendly and I think it is a good idea to utilise the spare rooms for hotel guests. The hotel had secure parking as well."

Tribe Carcassonne

8/10 Good

"The hotel has a great view of the castle and the roof top bar is definitely a bonus. The room was clean and have everything we needed however the toilet was in what can only be described as a cupboard with no space at all. The decor was too dark so much so that we couldn’t find the light switches! The carpet was black and when we dropped a black hair brush on the floor it took us 10 Minutes to find it!"

Comfort Aparthotel Carcassonne

10/10 Excellent

The best area to stay in Clermont-Sur-Lauquet is directly within the village centre, as it offers the most convenient access to local amenities and a tranquil setting.

The village centre is quite compact, with the main square, Place de la Mairie, acting as its heart. Here, you'll find the local boulangerie, a small grocery shop, and a few artisanal stores. The narrow, winding streets are lined with traditional stone houses, and the 12th-century church, Église Saint-Pierre, is a prominent landmark. This area provides a peaceful escape, great for those looking to unwind.

Couples seeking a quiet retreat will find the village centre particularly appealing. The emphasis here is on relaxation and enjoying the natural beauty of the Occitanie region. You can spend your days exploring the local walking trails, enjoying a leisurely meal at one of the small, family-run eateries, or simply relaxing with a book in a quiet courtyard.

For travellers interested in exploring the wider region, staying in the village centre offers a good base. While the village itself is small, it provides easy access to the surrounding countryside and is a short drive from larger towns and vineyards.
