Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel

"This hotel was easily accessible and the car park is a good size. It's in a great location for the city centre, which is a few minutes walk away. The room was nice and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. I struggle to sleep in new places, but I had no issues here. All of the staff were lovely and helpful and happy to answer any queries. We sat in the bar area in the evening for a drink and it was cosy feeling, relaxing and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and I wish I could have tried more of the food, but I was full. Would definitely stay here again, and try to make use of the gym and pool next time."

"Friendly staff, good location. Very quiet hotel. We didn't hear anything from inside our room even with a full hotel. Breakfast was good and the location is very handy to both train stations and the city center"

"Hotel: Easy check-in. Spacious, well appointed room. Comfortable. No dressing table with well lit mirror, which sadly seems a common theme with modern hotels. The View Restaurant: Welcoming, friendly knowledgable and attentive service without being intrusive, spacious with fantastic views, reasonable prices for very well presented and tasty meals. Unusual that the accessible room allocated was on the 7th floor (therefore up a lift or several flights of stairs), at the very end of the corridor, then off the side wing of that beyond a fob controlled door into a short corridor."

"Nice modern hotel, plenty of parking available and EV chargers, rooms clean and a good size TV, restaurant food was good and breakfast was very good, my only complaint would be that my room was roadside and there was road noise throughout the night"

"Thoroughly recommend. Lovely rural part of Devon, the hotel is set in its own well maintained grounds, which is excellent for dog walking, our room was clean and comfortable, as was the breakfast and dining area which were both well set out, with plenty of space to accommodate dogs. Food was great, varied and plentiful. All staff were polite, efficient, and attentive, which helped to create a pleasant and chilled atmosphere."
