Well placed for sightseeing

Posted 14-Apr-2018
Pros: Excellent choice of breakfast options. Room size and facilities.
Cons: The underground car park could be better sign posted and the £10 daily parking fee can be a suprise if you've not accountd for it.
Location: Grovesnor Museum - Free entry Blue Bell Tapas,IceStone Gelato, Cote Brasserie Cheshire Oaks Outlets 20mins drive River trips, walk the City walls.
The hotel is ideally placed. Chester city centre is a 10min stroll. The staff were friendly, the room comfy and although we didn't utilise them the bar and gym looked well served.

Good location but let down .....

Posted 02-Apr-2018
The hotel check-in was ok we managed to find a car parking space but wasn’t told about the car parking fee until checkout. The room was ok but the bed was low and not particularly comfortable. The service at breakfast I would describe as poor, it took a long time to bring out any teas and coffees and the clearing of tables was non existant. There was plenty of choice for cooked breakfast my partner had a full English which he said was good I ordered the eggs Benedict which came on an untoasted muffin which was so cold it felt like it had just been defrosted and the eggs were cold by time it reached me. Just a bit dissapointing because the hotel is in a great location and could easily have been excellent.

clean modern hotel well situated for cIt centre

Posted 18-Mar-2018
Pros: Fabulous bed
Cons: Breakfast as above! Charging for parking is a bit steep..but then left car there most of the next day so probably as much as it would've been anyway
Location: Chester looks a bit tired around the edges based on my memory of it. If you go racing hotel is a must..it's right next door.
No obvious faults however the only meal we had was breakfast. A bit style over substance..they continuously failed to serve anything other than lukewarm. Toast was limp and thin and made spreading the frozen butter impossible. Both breakfasts arrived tepid and for me, edible, so it went back
