"It's comfortable but expensive for what it is. I personally prefer the much cheaper Holiday Inn at Strathclyde Park which is just as clean and tidy, has more towels, bigger bed, better TV's, has a bar and serves quick easy food, Toby Carvery next door too."

A pleasant, quiet room as requested. Very good use made of the space, even a small bath in tiny en suite. Loved the red tartan furnishings. Excellent food included a delicious evening meal and plenty of choice on breakfast menu. Staff were friendly and courteous and very helpful. Slept well, comfortable bed and was glad of comfy chair and decent sized table where I could do some writing. The en suite was small but okay, again well planned. This is a hotel of character with thoughtful...

The hotel beds were very comfortable, we had a great night's sleep as there was not any noise to disturb our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff, very clean and spacious rooms. Modern. Good water pressure for the shower. If I had to say anything negative about it I would say that the mattresses are ready for changing and better pillows but other than that, for the cost there is no better hotel out there 10/10 Value for money

Good location, only 25mins outside Edinburgh city centre. The room was spotless and had all the amenities one could need, an iron, hairdryer, tea and coffee. The bathroom was very nicely done and very clean. The bed was very big and amazingly comfortable. Would definitely recommend this hotel for those wanting to stay close to both glasgow and Edinburgh.

The castle just recently opened up for individual stays (had been only available to venue hire out in the last year)...and thankfully it did. Our room was wonderfully plush, every detail thought of and impeccably decorated and clean. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Every inch of the property is gorgeous...can't say enough about it.

Lovely stay . Friendly staff. Plenty of free parking . Quiet and nice rooms . Big spacious room and toilet. Need little improvement while re-servicing the room as my room supplies were not properly re-stocked and replaced. Overall good experience

The staff at the hotel couldn’t do enough to make sure you had everything you needed and were super friendly. The hotel had great amenities and although there was a wedding going on it wasn’t too noisy! The room seemed very clean apart from a rogue make up sponge that was lying under the desk.
