Great hotel, great location and lovely staff. Very welcoming and friendly. Bus 591, 555 stops just outside the hotel and can take you anywhere whether it’s Windermere, Grasmere, Keswick all very easy to commute. Some great restaurants around. Staff extremely friendly at the reception. Breakfast top notch - 10/10 for Manuel who takes orders at the brekkie area , always smiling. Would highly recommend.

We stayed one night at the Victorian house as we had planned a last minute visit to the lakes due to particularly good weather forecast for this time of year. The staff were very welcoming; the room was as described ‘cosy’ and furnished beautifully. The breakfast was of a high standard with plenty of choice. We had a 2 night stay in late August. The hotel although busy maintained a quiet environment. The grounds and gardens are gorgeous and difficult to tear oneself away from. Rooms are of a good standard but on our next visit I would ask for one with a lake view. Breakfast is good but the 4 course evening meal was outstanding (and good value for the quality) All the staff we encountered went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. All in all a genuine 5 star experience.
