The county of Cornwall is well known and loved for its seemingly never-ending collection of rolling hills, green valleys and feats of natural beauty. What it's not so well known for is its wine! Camel Valley Vineyard is making waves among the large community of holidaymakers for whom Cornwall is a regular jaunt. With so many excellent hotels, guesthouses and B&Bs in the area, now is the ideal time to drop in on the vineyard to see what all the fuss is about.
Camel Valley Vineyard is strategically placed on the south-facing side of the valley, which isn't far from Bodmin, in the centre of Cornwall. With more than 24,000 vines growing on the hillside, the winery is fast becoming a talking point among locals and travellers alike.
The Vineyard is far more than just a pretty collection of vines on an idyllic hillside, all shades of green. There's also a shop, regular guided tours and, of course, the opportunity to taste some of the award winning produce on-site. Grab a glass of sparking or still wine and look out across the breath-taking vista.
With so many fabulous hotels in Cornwall, it's easy to get a good night's sleep no matter where you are in the county. Bodmin Moor is a popular spot with tourists. Those who don't come for the wine are often in the area for the spectacular walking and painting opportunities thrown up by the natural landscapes.
The Trehellas House Hotel and Restaurant is ideally located for visiting the Camel Valley Vineyard, just a short way outside of Bodmin. If comfortable rooms and free WiFi weren't enough, there's also an AA 1 Rosette awarded restaurant on-site. Wadebridge is the nearest town, but both coasts are within easy reach, meaning it's also a good place to stay for those keen to see the county's beaches.
In Bodmin itself, the White Hart offers a very traditional experience with an affordable price tag. The Inn offers free WiFi, as well as a bar and restaurant on-site. From Bodmin, access to all of the county's attractions, including the Vineyard, couldn't be easier.
