"Hotel with character in Stamford, UK"
A lovely, character hotel, about 1 Km from the centre of the historic market town of Stamford, although such a shame that it is located on the main road from Stamford to the A1! Top tip; before booking a room at this hotel check where it is located as rooms at the front of the hotel suffer from the noise of the passing traffic, which even on a Sunday evening can be frequent. We asked to move rooms as the one we were originally allocated was simply too noisy. This was done without a problem as the hotel was not busy although bear in mind that this hotel is frequently used for weddings so the hotel staff may not be a position to do this. Excellent food and prompt service in the restaurant (formal dress not required). A lovely terrace at the back of the hotel and substantial off road parking. As the building is old the floors are not level and there may be a small number of steps to go up and down, even on the ground floor, which may be an issue for those with mobility problems.

"Fantastic location at the heart of the city "
Glad we found this hotel and managed to secure a room in summer! The gym and spa next door is a great place to relax after a full day of walkabout in the city. The hotel is conveniently located at the heart of the city. Their 2 in house restaurants are worth trying out too. Just a pity we didn't get the corner room which had 2 glass walls overlooking the lovely city scenes.

Nice country pub - the kind exist more often in movies than reality - with comfortable rooms, a decent restaurant (and a GREAT breakfast), plus super friendly staff. Great value for money.

"nice stay"
wonderful room off to the side of the pub, the parking is quite tricky to get to and we had to have a local show us where it was. Room was clean and full of items. washroom had a bit of mold on it, but nothing to what we have been seeing in England. Wonderful staff and the breakfast was standard English breakfast and was great. :)
