Very comfortable, all facilities good. Close to city centre. Room small (attic room) but that's what I paid for. Staff courteous and chatty and gave good advice. Not keen on the small TV in room but views more than made up for it. Tea, Coffee, biscuits, fresh milk, mini bar with local produce (mostly ciders), all very good. Breakfast was excellent with a highly varied and quality choice. En-suite clean, everything worked, plenty of goodies

We booked on the spur of the moment for one night and definitely picked the best location in Ross on Wye. The hotel has a fantastic terrace with a great view and we were given a room with that view too when we asked. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed comfortable with lovely crispy white sheets.
The hotel staff were all very friendly and polite, especially the waiter at breakfast who smoothly fulfilled our request to see the view again whilst having breakfast with smiles and no...

Really lovely hotel with fantastic public rooms. Cosy bar with log fire and home made cakes or cocktails later on. Food was delicious and service very friendly. Rooms are being upgraded and the views are beautiful.

Excellent scenic location next to the river. Amazing breakfast choices. Evening meals were always very good and sometimes exceptional. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would hope to return.

The best area to stay in Callow is the Callow Village centre, particularly around the High Street.
This area is the heart of Callow and offers a blend of traditional English village life with convenient access to amenities. The High Street is home to a selection of independent shops, local pubs serving traditional fare, and charming tea rooms. You'll find many of the village's historic buildings here, contributing to its quaint character. It's also very walkable, allowing you to easily explore on foot.
Couples often find the Callow Village centre ideal for a relaxing getaway. The area's quiet streets and inviting pubs offer a ideal setting for romantic strolls and peaceful evenings. You're also well-placed for picturesque walks along the nearby River Wye, with several scenic footpaths easily accessible from the village centre.
For those looking for a slightly more secluded yet still convenient option, the areas just outside the immediate village centre, towards the surrounding countryside, are an excellent choice. These locations often feature larger properties, some with more extensive gardens, providing a tranquil escape while still being a short walk or drive from the High Street's conveniences.
When is the best time to go to Callow?
The best time to visit Callow is from late spring to early autumn, specifically May through September, when the weather is at its most pleasant.

This period is great for those looking to hike the Malvern Hills, visit local gardens, or enjoy a picnic by the River Wye.
For those interested in local events, July and August often feature country fairs, agricultural shows, and open garden schemes, providing a deeper insight into the local culture.
