"Grand Victorian hotel, showing its age a bit but full of character. Very good location in the centre of Cheltenham. Excellent restaurant for breakfast and dinner."

"Lovely hotel near the Malverns and close to a railway station from where regular direct trains run to Hereford, Ledbury, Malvern and Worcester- handy for day trips. Offered help with luggage on arrival. Room spacious, but some units could do with refresh. Breakfast could be better, with fruit only offered as an alternative to cooked, rather than as well as. Decent cooked to order options though. For dinner, good selection of meats from local farm. The pastry on my pie was overly hard albeit contents very good, and veg could have been cooked better. Pleasant modern bar next to the restaurant. Overall, a pleasant stay and the Malvern Hills are great for a walk with wonderful views in all directions."

"Under new group and nothing like when it was a Best Western. The Spa pool was still out of order. We were there in October and it was broken. There was not the warm and friendly feel we’ve received for the last six years. It was very false. I’m not worried about fresh linen in my room, totally agree with only on request, but a clean cup and glass and tea etc being replenished would have been very welcomed. Not the same hotel and won’t be returning."

"At 06:30 each morning, individuals in other rooms would use the shower. The pipes proceeded to scream and hiss making it impossible to sleep past this time. I got to reception and it took about 20 minutes to check in with more computer clicks than I could count. I was told the room had not been paid for and now I need to check my bank to see if I have been charged twice. Breakfast was poor, the "hot" water for the tea was tepid at best, cheap sausages, over cooked bacon and scrambled egg with more milk than egg. The only pleasant member of staff was the cleaner. Won't be going here again and won't use hotels.com to book either!"
