"Staff very friendly and welcoming, always greeting you when you entered. Facilities are great especially for self-catering. Bathrooms clean. Rooms a little dated. Bunk beds very sturdy-not rickety or squeaky. Only negative I can think of is the bed sheets are too small for the beds so they come untucked very easily meaning I woke up often sleeping on the mattress instead of the sheet. Overall a great property, great location, good for parking too. Very hilly if you are walking though!"

"We chose this hotel because the May bank holiday was forecast to be very hot and we specifically wanted somewhere with an outdoor pool. Expedia advertised this hotel as having one, so we booked and drove over 3 hours — only to find out the hotel doesn’t actually have an outdoor pool. Extremely disappointing. Things got worse when we discovered the AC in our room wasn’t working in 30-degree heat. A helpful receptionist with long black hair quickly fixed it and explained that whenever the key card is removed, the AC switches off and can only be reset by reception. The next day, after returning from Cheltenham at 2pm, we asked reception to reset the AC again. The short-haired receptionist rudely told us to wait behind a queue of check-ins, despite the reset taking only seconds. An hour later my wife was told it would be sorted, but 3 hours later the AC was still off. I had to go down again and insist it was reset, only to be snapped at that she was busy and working alone. Even another guest commented on how rude this was. Regardless of staffing issues, paying guests should not wait 3 hours for a simple fix or be spoken to so dismissively. I raised the issues with Adrian at checkout, but although polite, he showed little interest in resolving the complaint. Overall, a very disappointing stay with misleading advertising and poor customer service."

"Rooms I feel could do with a mini fridge, our room was on street level just away from reception which we were a bit worried about as a pub right across the path, but we were very surprised we did not hear anything from outside. As mentioned on other reviews service outside in the Bar area can be slow. Reception was very friendly but was a bit frustrated when checking out, we asked if we could have our room a little longer and was told no, but the lady beside me was agreed for another 2 hours. A lovely choice for breakfast, all freshly cooked and well presented. Overall a lovely stay, especially as it was a very hot bank holiday weekend"

"Initially some issues with the room where we raised it with the front desk and was moved promptly to another one. Spa and Pool in need of renovation, the outdoor is also in need of some love. Bar staff extremely slow outside, to the point it was quicker to go inside and order rather than waiting. Really good location, and the hotel could do so much better with some a bit more care and attention to the property and service. Will be back and hopefully it'll be improved!"

"The room is best described as a hotel pod! Very tiny, best suited for solo travellers for sure! Not suitable for tall people lol as our room at least was only 6 feet wide and the bed was the full of it. The bathroom did not have a closing door so no privacy at all for someone using the bathroom. The glass sliding door does not fully close. The room was clean. Staff were friendly. The “exterior” picture provided is not the outside of the hotel, it is not even close. This hotel is next to a five guys restaurant!"
