Just Married
It was our second stay. This time, mid-visit, we got married at a venue overlooking the cove at Combe Martin, bodyboarding at Putsborough Beach in the afternoon and dinner at the Rock Inn in the evening. A special time.

Cottage near a wonderful family beach
The property is located in a very pretty village about a mile and a half from Putsborough beach which was the best beach we have ever visited. It is ideal for children as the beach is very well maintained with excellent facilities including clean toilets. A bonus was the free parking pass for the beach that was kindly provided by Sam, saving us the £10 car parking charge. We especially enjoyed the very large terraced garden where we ate most of our meals. The property comprises two bedrooms in the cottage and a small annex bedroom with ensuite shower. The roads are very narrow, being single track in places, but drivers were always cautious. You can walk to the beach which takes about half an hour but again along a single track road. We also walked to Croyde and back along the South West Coastal Path to Georgeham via the beach.

Very nice
Pleasant cottage, in a lovely village, close to the beach at Putsborough. Accommodation was exactly as described, slightly quirky with lots of low ceilings/door frames! Fantastic garden and outside seating area and everything one would need for a short stay is provided. Location is great, particularly for walking, eating and drinking (both village pubs are worth a visit) and communication with Sam was excellent throughout.

Had a great week with my family and the dog. Lovely quirky cottage which had every thing you needed. Great location. Great big garden and so great having the free parking for Putsborough beach. Tried the local fish and chip van as well as the Thai food van. Both excellent.

Lovely cottage for the perfect break
My husband booked a 2 night stay for my birthday. The cottage was lovely, clean, tidy and quiet. It was warm and cosy and the log burner is a definite plus during colder months. Sam left in the cottage the immediate necessities, tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and bread, butter and orange juice. It is a perfect 6 minute drive from Putsborough beach and the car park pass is a bonus. The garden is amazing and our dog loved it, plenty of room to run around. Sam was a brilliant host and we definitely hope to go back in the future.

Amazing garden, great location
A really great stay. The house had everything we needed and the annex building was well equiped. The whole place was clean and tidy. The best part was the HUGE garden which was great for BBQ-ing, game playing, and generally lounging around in the sun. Very grateful to have the parking voucher for Puttsborough beach which saved a few pennies :) The location was perfect for beach access, 6 min drive to Puttsborough and Croyde. Lovely quiet neighbourhood with relatively easy parking. The off road space was very helpful. Would recommend having a food shop delivered although there is a large Tesco about 20 mins away. The local shop had all the essentials you might need and also Sam provided a few treats and essentials for our arrival. A great holiday was had :)

Lovely cosy cottage in great location
We had a great stay here. Lots of lovely thoughtful touches including a welcome hamper. Cottage in a lovely village with two great pubs and a small village shop which is very convenient. Tuesdays is fish and chips night from a mobile van which is also great. A short drive to the lovely Putsborough beach and a car park pass included with the cottage saves you the £7 charge. All in all a great place to stay.

This is a beautiful cottage, in a stunning location, and fabulous big garden. Lovely to receive a starter pack from Sam when we arrived and have to say we felt at home as soon as we got there, so much so we didn't want to leave !!! A great sunday lunch at the Kings arms which is only to short stroll away. The car park pass for putsborough sands, which is stunning, is a big asset as parking there isnt cheap. We are booked to go back in May, and feel like we have found a real gem of a place. Thanks Sam :-)

We have had a fantastic couple of days over New Year in this gem of a property! So well equipped, there was 6 of us adults and a dog and it was perfect. Lovely walk to the beach, pubs on the doorstep and everything you need inside. The house itself is beautiful, lovely wood burner, kitchen with everything you could need and comfy beds. Enclosed garden was great for the doggie. We were sad to leave.

Hidden Gem in a Beautiful Village
From the moment we walked in we felt transported into a different world. Fernleigh is beautifully furnished in keeping with it's age and character but is also fully equipped with modern day gizmos. The cottage wrapped itself around us and the beautiful garden kept our doggie happy and safe. So much space for her to explore. It was lovely to look at the stars on a clear night without light pollution and to wander down to the two excellent dog friendly pubs in the evening, both serving great food! If you are looking for a great base close to fantastic beaches and pretty villages then you have it all here!

Perfect getaway
Excellent 10 day stay. Fantastic large enclosed garden which our dog loved. Sun trap throughout the day. All home comforts provided for by Sam including an array of milk, fresh eggs etc on arrival. We even used the electric blanket on one occasion! Large Tesco in nearby Braunton and village shop around the corner. Parking pass for Putsborough Sands well used. Lovely trips out to all other local beaches. (allow time for narrow Devon roads! ) Wonderful week spent in idyllic surroundings. Home and area thoroughly recommended. Thanks Sam.

Cosy cottage with lots of old fashioned charm
My wife and I together with friends and family stayed over Christmas and we very much enjoyed our stay at the cottage in Georgeham. The cottage is well equiped and suitable for an average family. The village of Gerogeham is charming and has two very good pubs that serve excellent food. The local owls gave us a wonderful chorus one evening. The beds at the property are very good and we all slept very well. Lots to do in the local area. Tremendous scenery.

A charming characterful cottage with many thoughtful touches
Fernleigh was a welcoming, cosy haven with every need thought of by the owner. It was a real priveledge to stay in such a lovely place. The garden was delightful too, large enough for our dog to run around in. Also room to store bicycles and hang out wetsuits. Georgeham is a delightful village, great location for Putsborough beach (dog friendly), as well as Croyde. The village has two really good pubs - we tried both, a village stores, and also a visiting fish & chip van one night a week.

Excellent cosy cottage in great location
Just stayed here with family and our pet Labrador and had a fantastic time. The cottage has lots of creature comforts to make it homely and a great garden to enjoy the views and sunshine. The village is great with 2 good pubs serving quality food, good walk to Putsborough beach (dogs allowed on beach) and the free car park pass is very useful! Welcome pack by Sam was a nice touch too. Great stay and highly recommended.

Cosy but cramped cottage
We had a lovely holiday here and thought that Georgeham was a great little village - near to both the coast with its beautiful beaches and to some interesting towns. We enjoyed lots of aspects of the cottage. As we were two families, having the annexe was really useful. The garden was lovely and we enjoyed being able to have the extra space there. Also it was very good to have some supplies already in the cottage when we arrived - many thanks to the owner. But we found the lounge very small and cramped and definitely over-furnished - it needs a big clear out! We were fortunate with the weather during our stay, so the lack of space was not a great problem, but there wasn't enough space for 6 adults to sit comfortably there and we would have been treading over each other all the time - luckily then that there were only 4 adults and a small child! Given that there is no space in the annexe to sit comfortably, this is a major drawback and would put us off renting the cottage again. A pity as it has lots of character and charm.

A brilliant summer holiday in Devon
6 adults comfortably stayed a week in this delightful cottage in the heart of Devon at the beginning of July 2018 - all instructions were straight forward, the place was spotless, comfortable and charming to say the least. On arrival there were some thoughtful gifts to start us off (thank you Sam!) The garden was a little haven and due to the brilliant weather we ate there most meals (when we were in that is!), otherwise we were on the beach and took advantage of the free parking ticket at Putsborough. All in all a great place to spend relaxing in the beautiful Devonshire countryside.

Beautiful character cottage! Perfect for a birthday weekend away.
We couldn't fault the cottage. It was warm and cosy, with the added bonus of the log burner. (Wood included). Despite the weather being wet we were able to still walk to the beach and the 2 nearby pubs, which offered superb food. Would highly recommend this for a true experience of British country cottage in a beautiful village by the sea with the added bonus of being dog friendly.
