"Really enjoyed our stay at Ashbys. Steve and Mubi were warm, welcoming and helpful and the room and public spaces (lounge / games room, kitchen, bar area) were comfortable and well equipped. It was clear that a lot of thought has been given to making Ashbys a unique place to stay: welcoming, relaxing and fun. A great location too for the bars, seafront and Southsea attractions! Our bathroom window needed a blind - more for the neighbours than anything! - and the bedroom a second bedside table...

Chaston Manor Hotel is very comfortable, superb service at check in, high level of cleanliness and the highlight - a superb breakfast (just what you need to get started). Very well located and will highly recommend it."

"A really lovely little place to stay. The room was spacious and the bed super comfortable. Having kitchen facilities to use is a bonus although we didn’t use them. The shower wasn’t great (rain head only) and I really struggled to work it. It would also be great to have a mirror in the bedroom area for getting ready as the only mirror was in the bathroom. "

"Room was a little tired but overall okay. Minor issues like ripped wallpaper etc. My only issue was the fact the latch was slightly damaged on the inside so I had no way to properly lock the door. I had to put the chain on and shove a doorstop under the door, as a solo female traveller this made me a little uncomfortable. Walls are very thin so be aware if you’re a light sleeper. "Despite the weather we had a great few nights away in this seaside location. The kids loved the fact we could see the sea from the property and had great fun on the beach at both low and high tide. The property was clean and spacious and had every amenity we required. The location was perfect for both walks to east wittering for lunch or dinner, a short drive to the sandy beach at we sat wittering for a beach day in the sun and a 35min drive into Portsmouth to take in the view from Spinnaker...

"James was great at communicating and very helpful. Even posted back to us a couple of small things we had left at the house. The house is as described. the bed in the main bedroom the only one we used was very comfortable. Despite being horrible weather the house was always warm and the heating was easy to control. The kitchen is well equipped."
