Additionally, sleeping 5 meant sharing spaces as there is only a large great room / kitchen and the master bedroom with master bath. If you need a laundry you’ll have to reserve somewhere else. "The Apex Waterloo is conveniently located to many of Edinburgh’s attractions. It’s an easy walk to Weaverly Station. Close to Princes Street Gardens. If you forgot anything there’s a mall right behind the hotel and the shops on Princes Street is an easy walk. Easy access to the Royal Mile. It’s my second time to base my Edinburgh trip from this hotel. I’ll use it for future trips too."

"We stayed one night. There was construction work taking place in the walkway between the building when we were there, the morning we left there was dust and disc cutter fuel fumes in the area where the elevators on one side and reception area on the other- to be fair it didn’t really bother us, but also one of the 3 elevators were non-functional. Apart from those things the place was high quality wrapped in an older building. The front staff, (especially a guy who checked us in, called Michael I think), were appropriate high quality individuals, low key and elegant I would say. The rooms were very clean and fairly small for the price but appointed well with usual coffee machine etc etc. The bed was fabulously comfortable and got a free bottle of prosecco (I assume for being expedia platinum). The location was ideal for us (train station/old town) and the area was very safe. This was an expensive stay for us and I would say for the price quite reasonable. There is a quality feel about the place. I would recommend."

"The hotel is walking distance to the airport allowing us to drop off rental car the night before our flight. Restaurant/bar on site which is convenient but disappointing that they were out of Diet Coke when we checked in. Had a slow shower drain but someone quickly came and fixed the problem. Staff is friendly. Rooms are small but you can’t beat the convenience."
