Great for what it is. Good value. Could do with some food provision beyond a few sandwiches up to 9pm.
Lovely location and superb room. Upgraded to Suite. No lift to first floor rooms in main building
Cosy rooms, lovely location and very friendly staff
very close to town, good parking and other facilities
Absolutely loved it! Great location and the breakfast and hospitality was second to none - really appreciated that we could bring along our dog aswell
Please leave a space for me to stay here again! Emma really looked after me,,,, going well above and beyond what I could have expected. My room was exceedingly comfortable to the extent I had a fabulous nights sleep and a lush breakfast. I didn’t want to leave to go to work.
Arrived late afternoon, room not prepared from previous guests, had to vacate for an hour when cleaners were called.
Fantastic hotel. The rooms are amazing; spacious, luxurious and beautifully decorated. The food and service in the restaurant is first class, both in the evening and at breakfast. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
Comfortably night - although it is a pub where you expect a bit of noise until 11pm closing but the rooms are separate next door and so no problem. Smart rooms
If a trip to an abbey in Berkshire sounds like a relaxing way to spend a day - think again! Bisham Abbey may be 800 years old, but it's as far removed as possible from what you might expect. While it was once home to King Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, today it plays host to acclaimed athletes and those who want to keep an eye on their personal fitness as this spectacular, Grade I-listed manor house is now home to one of the prestigious National Sports Centres. There's plenty of accommodation in the area, ranging from cosy B&Bs to impressive luxury hotels.
With a rich history behind it, Bisham Abbey is replete with tales of murder, ghosts, aristocracy and curses. However, pay a visit today and you'll find that it has become a prestigious training venue for the likes of the English Football Association, Living Tennis and some of the best sportsmen in the United Kingdom. However, the Abbey doesn't just lend its facilities to medal-winners. It also plays an important role in the local community, offering classes and facilities to those who want to keep in tip-top condition. If you're visiting with a mind to breaking a sweat, there are a number of hotels in nearby Bracknell, which is about a 20-minute drive away. Hotels such as the Elizabeth House B&B, the Fines Bayliwick Hotel and the Grange Bracknell offer comfortable accommodation to retire to after the end of a training session.
However, there's more to Bisham Abbey than meets the eye. If you're looking for an idyllic backdrop to a wedding, its 13th century charms and riverside setting are picture-perfect and, with a dedicated team of wedding planners on hand, you can ensure that your Big Day goes without a hitch. In nearby Windsor you'll find the Oakley Court Hotel, which is an ideal hotel for newlyweds. Imposing, elegant and unashamedly luxurious, it has served its time as a film location in various movies and has beautiful and relaxing grounds.
Bisham Abbey also hires itself out to businesses wishing to host corporate and team-building events, allowing delegates to make the most of its facilities. For large groups who want to look after themselves, the Beneficial House - House of Fisher offers self-catering apartments and serviced rooms, allowing you to stick to your timetable without worrying about the strictures of a traditional hotel.
Bisham Abbey is one of Berkshire's more unique attractions and booking a hotel nearby will help ensure that your stay is one to remember.
