I've stayed here approx 6 or 7 times over the last year, its always a 5 star experience. Its a beautiful place set back from a road (not a busy road). Its always exceptionally clean and tidy. Staff are always so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The full English breakfast is fantastic, always hot. I always try and stay here when I'm up visiting family and hope to stay again in Feb 2024.

We recently stayed for two nights at The Cliffe Hotel in Lowestoft and were very pleased with our experience. The room, breakfast area, and communal spaces were all spotless and well-maintained, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was particularly spacious, clean, and tidy. Breakfast was cooked to order and of a high standard, with a good variety of options including cereal, porridge, and a hearty Full English. The service throughout was excellent, everyone we...

Room was lovely and spacious and was full of character. Very comfortable. Breakfast included in price was excellent and freshly made.
There was a bath but no shower. For our one night stay this was fine but would be more of an inconvenience if you’re there for longer.

fabulous . I was a bit worried as Copperbeech is on the A12 but the room is triple glazed and has a portable air con unit. Super comfy bed lovely fluffy towels with many extras - the little touches that elevate the stay. The local pub dos not serve food Tuesday and Wednesday but the menu looks good.

The best area to stay in Barnby is the village centre, particularly around The Green.
This is the main hub of Barnby, offering a delightful mix of local shops, traditional pubs, and charming cottages. The Green itself is a lovely open space, often hosting local events, and provides a pleasant focal point for the village. You'll find most of the essential amenities within easy walking distance, making it very convenient.
Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will find the village centre ideal. It offers a romantic setting with its historic buildings and quiet lanes, great for leisurely strolls. The proximity to cosy pubs and local eateries means you won't have to venture far for a lovely evening out.
For those travelling with family, staying near The Green is also an excellent choice. The open space is great for children to play, and the easy access to local shops means you're never far from necessities.
When is the best time to go to Barnby?
The best time to go to Barnby is during the warmer months, from late spring to early autumn, particularly between May and September.
During these months, the weather is generally mild and pleasant, ideal for exploring the village and its surrounding countryside. You'll find the gardens in full bloom, making walks along the River Waveney particularly enjoyable. The longer daylight hours also allow for more time to discover local footpaths and perhaps enjoy an evening meal at a riverside pub.
Families often find this period great for a visit, as the milder weather allows for outdoor activities like cycling along the quiet country lanes or enjoying picnics in the open fields. There are also often local village events or fêtes happening in the summer, which can add to the experience.
Couples looking for a relaxing escape will appreciate the peaceful atmosphere during these months, with opportunities for gentle strolls and enjoying the natural beauty of the Suffolk countryside.
