The hotel had holes in the bedding actual tears and then the towel were like old rags with 2 holes as big as my head.... breakfast already overdone when we went at 7.30am also no one to greet us at breakfast waited then went to reception..... i did alert the hotel twice to issues they said head office would contact me but they havent....

We stayed overnight at this gorgeous Edwardian hotel to celebrate my wife's birthday. There are lovely features throughout, including the bedrooms. Dinner was lovely and unhurried and the staff very considerate. Breakfast the next day was good. The spa facilities looked good but treatments needed to be booked in advance. The age and style of the property means there are no lifts. This was something of a challenge with luggage etc but we did have help when checking in. Looking forward to returning in the summer.

This was one of the best value holidays I have ever been on. The breakfast was one of the nicest breakfast I have had and the sauna steam room and swimming pool and gym are all good. I thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Location was a little crazy from Avonmouth once off the M5 but the hotel, pool staff restaurant where great. I stayed in room 8 in the old part of the hotel and I will be back down every other week.

Excellent but tired
Really enjoyed our stay, the food was excellent and the gym and sauna and large pool was a bonus but the hotel was tired and needed a refurb, otherwise excellent location and we were happy with ur stay and it was a very reasonable price

Great place and service
This hotel location is amazing. Located on a hilltop with an amazing view. The staff were very caring and helpful and even walked me to my room after I couldn’t find it. Yeah it’s a little difficult but once found…… The breakfast is worth every penny. Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and the hotel is clean (even smells clean!) FREE parking. Not greedy enough to charge like other hotels. Just a very nice place and location.

I have stayed in the Hilton and other 4 star establishment's. Other than this hotel, the only time I was asked how was the service provided, was on a business class flight. All the hotel employees were both exceptional in the delivery of client satisfaction and professionalism. They actually cared. That was clearly evident. I shall most definitely return to this amazing hotel! I shall tell all my friends and colleagues to stay there, at least once, if not more!

Cut short a long drive home and stayed here last minute. Although not the easiest to get to from the M5 the faff was worth it. Very efficient check-in, great amenities and a really comfortable bed. No complaints whatsoever.

Only allowed 30 mins in pool and it was cold. Pool manager argued it was 29c. No one to give towels and locker key so missed some oftime of slot waiting. Sauna and steam room you need to walk through gym and limited hours. Unable to go as not in 30min slot. Shuts at 8pm. Room unclean. Lock broken on door, heating turned off, mattress had wires sticking out and lumpy. Staff bought a heater, blanket over mattress and hoovered and cleaned room once flagged up. Asked for help carrying bags on way back as we have health conditions but help never came. Breakfast OK. Need to request Veggie food but came quickly. Wouldn't recommend experience or stay here again.

Dear Zoe,Thank you for your stay and I apologise that you found so many issues. We have received no similar feedback regarding the pool temperature, and our member of staff (who you could have asked for towels/locker keys) stated the temperature was 29c, not to argue, but as this would have been the temperature at the time. In addition our confirmation email which you received, contains information regarding our Leisure Club opening hours, including the opening times for the Sauna/Steam Room. I apologize for the other issues with your stay, however I understand that your room was cleaned once again and you were provided help with luggage upon check in. We wish you well but considering your plethora of issues, unfortunately I don't think this is the Hotel for you.

Worst Burger i have ever eaten!
The hotel was OK but the food was awful. I have a burger which smelt and tasted like feaces. I took 2 bites and pushed it to the other side of the table but could still smell it. The breakfast in the morning wasn't much better, Apple juice tasted like chemicals. If the food wasn't so bad i would possibly stay again.

A very pleasant one night stay. We didn’t use most facilities, but the room was good, clean and comfortable, the evening meal was very good, and the service from the staff was excellent. And good value. We would stay there again

Main hotel looked good but photos not representative of the room we had which was small, noisy, dusty, desperately in need of a refresh and curtains and wardrobe door handles not fixed properly. Had been travelling all day on the first night so all we wanted to do was sleep when we got there. Decided that after we used the spa facilities next day that we would go home. Lovely location. Bathroom was good. Staff were very pleasant Booked for two nights only stayed one.

Lovely area! Quiet and peaceful nice spot to stop for a night or so as it’s got its own personality and not commercialised. Old authentic with its own appeal. Lovely for couples if you fancy a chilled out venue

Nice Room
We had a comfortable night in a spacious bedroom. Everything was clean but we would have preferred a walk in shower as opposed to a very slippery bath. This was not good for me with my arthritic hips.
