"Everything was first class. Only think I would do differently would be to get a room On the first floor. Missed a bottle of water in the room but to be fair Scottish tap water is fine."

"Beautiful period property with bags of character. Lovely lounge area with comfortable seating to relax and chat, have a drink before or after dining. Very comfortable bed, excellent food and so therefore excellent value for money for your stay."

"Would I go back ??? Yes, this place was clean and the rooms well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful. Although this guest house is on a busy road, it was so quiet. Highly recommended. "

"Overnight stay. Due to our own problems could not check in arriving after 12mn very good instructions to gain entry and directions to room. Breakfast made to order delicious and plentiful. Hotel is tierd in places but room was modern obviously newly updated. Bed very comfortable family are improving areas all the time. Well worth a visit if you are coming to Castle Douglas."

"Hotel was recommended to us and we were not disappointed possibly fortunate to have been offered a larger first floor room in a unique hotel. Once we figured out the bedside lamp switch (ask the staff) our time here went quickly. Location on main street on a warm town event filled weekend but external noise didn't interrupt good night sleep. Breakfast great with add ons and take outs catered for. Only downside to the place, in common with many older properties is the abundance of stairs. Would we go back yes no hesitation. "
