We enjoyed our stay. Our room was comparatively small, aside from the king-sized bed - it's an old inn after all - but very comfortable and well equipped. We stayed there essentially because of the prospect of good food, and we certainly enjoyed our meal. The folk there were welcoming so it was a good experience,

Disliked: Room comfort
An interesting overnight stay
The restaurant is very high quality food for dinner.
Breakfast was a bit odd in that we were just given the choice of a hot dish, whereas I prefer some fruit , nice breads and pastries etc.
Room was fine for 1 night but rather small with extra to no hanging space
Fantastic food from an enthusiastic, imaginative and caring chef. Great location for touring the region. Rooms ‘bijou’ due to the type of property and it’s history but very clean and comfortable.

A charming Inn with wonderful staff, super restaurant and cosy rooms.
We had a wonderful stay, the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The food is excellent. This is an all round lovely wee hotel. I'd highly recommend it.
We loved our stay at the Auldgirth Inn. We received a warm welcome at reception and all the service we received during our stay was great, nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing, both the evening meal and breakfast. We definitely recommend it as a base for exploring the local area.
This was a last minute find and it was an absolute gem!! Gorgeous room. spotless facilities, warm and welcoming staff. A Michelin Plate menu full of yummy deliciousness, what more could you ask. Will definitely be visiting again, hopefully for more than just the one night next time!!!
My partner and I stayed overnight en route from North Wales to Edinburgh. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable.
We booked an evening meal which was exceptionally good, a bit pricey but worth it..you get what you pay for.
Breakfast the next morning was excellent.
Vegans and veggies beware..not much for you, but pescatarians well catered for.
Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed our stay, staff were really nice and welcoming. The rooms were lovely and comfortable and the food was delicious. A great selection of gins, whiskeys and wines. An all round fantastic experience
Comfortable stay with pleasant staff and good food.
The only issue we had with room 2 was the noise coming from the water pipes which ran through a casing in the room.
A wee gem of a bespoke hotel, we loved how welcomed we felt by the staff, who couldnt do enough for us. The room was a great size and styling overall is modern and sophisticated. The winning formula for us was the Michelin standard food, great selection and open kitchen, so we could see the chefs working. The hotel, as a result had the amazing aroma of fine food. Its a go to establishment for rest and relaxation.
Perfext stop off on route between Scotland/England
Lovely greeting, great modern room with lots of special touches.
Then if you stop for food, make sure youre hungry... amazing food and veey generous portions.
Staff all really warm and friendly.
We had a lovely 2 night stay. The room was lovely with a super big bathroom. The bed was very comfy too. Gorgeous hotel & the staff were so friendly & welcoming. They made us feel at home. Dinner & breakfast was excellent also. Would really recommend.
This inn is a jewel, and without doubt we will be returning as it gives a great, easily-found stop-over on a long journey to the north east of Scotland. Throughout our stay, we were well cared for and made to feel most welcome.
The food on offer each night moved the experience into the truly outstanding category. I am rarely presented with a menu that offers so much that I might want to choose. The taster menus were lavish and varied and all dishes were interesting, very tasty and beautifully presented.
Well done to you all!
