The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. The shuttle bus picked us up from the train station within 10 minutes. Our luggage was already at the hotel and placed in our room. Our room was ready early so we were able to go and rest a bit. We chose a room with a private onsen which was amazing after a very long day of walking. We reserved the private onsen with both types of onsen water and used that one the first evening. The area around the hotel is very hilly so the shuttle was great. Temperature was good, and is constantly running. We had dinner and japanese breakfast served to us inside our room. Check out was a bit early at 10am, so that clashed a bit with our late breakfast and trying to get a last bath in while the staff wanted to clean up our breakfast set up at the same time. The massage chair was nice and the futon on the tatami was super comfortable (with choice of pillow). The coffee bar was nice, with some snacks during guest staying hours (after 4pm and before 10am). It's a bit further from the bus station, so didn't explore too much (it was rainy too), but there's a shuttle that's available on request. We had to use a pay phone to call as we had data-only plans. They can also shuttle you from the ropeway or train station. All in all, a nice relaxing and quiet place to unwind and soak in a wonderful onsen." The hotel is located high on a hill, which can be challenging with luggage, and signage is minimal—a very small Japanese-only sign makes the entrance easy to miss. Rooms and shared bathrooms may be on different floors, so you might need to use the stairs at night. The no-shoe policy fits the building, but the provided slippers are quite slippery, especially on stairs; safer ones would be appreciated. The elevator is only for luggage, so accessibility may be an issue. In the shared toilet area, there was no seat disinfectant or soap for the small sink. My room had only two outlets, so an outlet extender would help. A kettle is provided, but no tea or coffee, which would be a nice touch for the price. Check-in is limited to 3–8 PM and wasn’t clearly stated. Directions were unclear, and the Google Maps link provided didn’t work. Breakfast, offered at an extra cost, was nice but had no tea or coffee. Communication focused heavily on rules, which felt a bit unwelcoming. With a few adjustments, the stay could be much more comfortable."
