Despite us being late and very last minute, the staff welcomed us warmly (thank you, Linda!), in less than a minute we were set up in our room. The accommodations were excellent--clean and modern but set within an older authentic hotel. The breakfast was delicious, and we slept well. Although we only spent <18 hours in Ullapool, we're now eager to go back and learn more about the town. We'll definitely hope to stay at the Caledonian again. We were given access to a lovely sitting room and, as we were the only guests staying at the time, we really appreciated that we could just put our pj's on and relax in front of a roaring log burner. To add to the experience, we were told to help ourselves to some lovely single malt whiskey, which was a lovely touch. Only one of us drinks alcohol and I really enjoyed the 'wee dram'. Breakfast was excellent, complete with home-made jams and marmalade. We opted for a lighter breakfast of eggs, from the owners chickens which were lovely. After days travelling and indulging in the full Scottish breakfast, a simple breakfast was a real treat. We would highly recommend the guest house. Thank you."
