My husband and I went for 4 days. Customer service was excellent. room was good but views not so good.
just a few snags, such as basis in the room. There was no shampoo, conditioner or shower caps. This is basic for a 4* hotel
front office needs to be more informative about facilities at the hotel and lastly, guests need to know that the hotel provides comp drinks on arrival - make it more visual. If we hadn't asked we would have never known that this was available to us. Overall lovely city. Lots to do. Recommend
My friend and I stayed here for 5 nights and 6 days. We arrived in the last evening the staff were prompt to serve us. They told us of the amenities of the hotel, the routes available to get into the city, the meal time specials, and the surrounding area. They were quite nice and didn't judge us on our shabby fatigued look.
We were situated in a room which faces the real of the hotel and beside the elevator, ice machine, and show polisher. Our room came with two double bed, and the listed amenities. Overall the room was extremely clean, however it did have its faults. The walls felt a bit thin as we could hear guests in the hallways coming and going. Every time a door did slam we felt the headboard shake, and the accompanying lights rattle very loudly which woke us up on average of twice a night. We eventually got used to it though.
The washroom featured a frosted glass door, though pretty was not at all functional. It did not close fully and all sounds could be heard. It also did not have proper ventilation, which makes for some uneasy moments when sharing the room with others.
The room included a fridge, an easy to use safe, ironing board and iron, and ample closet and drawer space.
A big plus for myself was the use of a fitness center with decent equipment. The outdoor patio was great, and when it rained, the staff opened up the massive umbrellas so we could stay outside.
Overall it's a bit out there, but well worth the quiet after a long day in the noisy city.
"Nice hotel with easy accessibility to city centre"
Brilliant hotel with fantastic and friendly staff. I was impressed from the onset. Easy to reach from the airport. The staff were brilliant through out our stay. The checkin was easy. The decor updated and modern.
We are particularly grateful to Yana / Hana our housekeeper who kept our room tidy throughout and piled us with as much expresso as we could drink.
It was a bit further away from the centre of Amsterdam than we would have liked, although it was pretty easy to get to by tram. You still had dot walk quite way, which is tricky when you've been traipsing around the centre all day.

Our stay in the Holiday Inn Amsterdam - South was very pleasant. The hotel room was clean and adequately equipped, and the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is placed in a quiet residential area conveniently located near the tram line and local shops, were you can stock up on all the things that you might need. Also, it is easy to get to the hotel using public transport, which saves some money that you would otherwise spend on taxis. I would recommend the hotel to anyone planning a short or long stay in Amsterdam.
