"Lovely comfortable cottage with a fabulous view from the lounge balcony with afternoon and evening sun. No personal touch or welcome gift. Front yard full of weeds and plants blocking light into two snug windows. Would have been nice to use that space for a seat outside in the morning sunshine as the kitchen is perfectly placed through the front door. Locals lovely. Lots of pubs and shops. Great places to explore in the area."

"The cottage was lovely, clean and cosy. But the cottage its self is very remote . You need to get your supplies before you get there as there is nothing in the cottage has in a welcome pack . The hot tub was only luke warm and was never checked all weekend. Which wasnt good ! I was expecting it to be hot / warm . "It is a great property in a lovely rural location, yet only a mile or so from Alston. Furnished to a high standard the cottage had all you could need for a comfortable stay (even though we picked a very wet 2-3 days). We enjoyed our all-to-brief stay, and look forward to returning, hopefully when the weather is better and we can enjoy the outside patio area with it's wonderful views."

Such great value - thoroughly enjoyable stay
"Myself and a friend had a wonderful one night stay as a stopover coming back to Yorkshire from Edinburgh. Beautiful surroundings (great views from our window) with extremely comfortable beds in the room (firm but soft - which is my preference). I enjoyed a pre breakfast swim in the pool and the lovely countryside views from the jacuzzi. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choices - we definitely didn't need lunch. All the staff encountered throughout our stay were attentive and friendly. The tiniest thing that stood out was that some of the edges of furniture in the room/bathroom were looking a little tired and the skirting board under the window would benefit from a paint touch up. Also the lights were all linked so you couldn't isolate each beds bedside light - but these things really were minor - and as I say they stood out because everything else was excellent. I felt the whole thing was extremely good value topped off by the fact there were Yorkshire teabags in the room!"
