We recently stayed at The Cambrian Hotel in Switzerland, booking a deluxe Mountain Panorama View room with the expectation of a balcony. However, upon check-in, we were surprised to find that the room we received had a very small window and no balcony, which was a stark contrast to what was advertised on the hotel's website and booking platforms. Paying around 650 CHF per night for a two-night stay and not receiving the room we expected was disappointing. The discrepancy between the room we received and the representation provided during booking was quite significant. We believe that if a room does not have a balcony and only features a small window, it should be sold at a different price point. Additionally, we were disheartened by the attitude of the front desk staff, including the duty manager, when we politely raised our concerns. Their response came across as rude, which further impacted our experience negatively. We hope that by sharing our experience, others will be mindful when booking with the hotel. It's important for guests to be aware that the actual accommodations may not align with what is advertised. We recommend potential guests to consider reaching out to the hotel directly to ensure that the room they book meets their expectations. While our stay at The Cambrian Hotel did not meet our expectations, we are hopeful that our feedback will be taken into consideration for the improvement of future guest experiences. Top-notch stay and worth the cost
Wonderful service, very nice restaurant (dinner and breakfast), slick design, nice spa and pool, friendly staff and amazing views (try to get rooms facing the valley, and not the street!). I don't normally spend so much on hotels, but this really was worth it.

Very nice pool but no more than that
The service was very slow and not very professional but with lot of good ententions. Our room had no aero conditioning and it was on 2 flor, so if you open the door everybody can see you

We loved the hotel, only downside was there was no availability for the VIP perk spa treatment as we were only there for the weekend, so I would advise other customers to book well in advance so they don’t miss out.

A must... just wow!
Top-notch hotel, absolutely blown away by the beautiful views, amazing food and excellent service. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. The evening meal was devine and the breakfast was tasty too. And the heated outdoor pool at the spa with the mountain views, wow what an incredible experience! I was sad to only be able to stay here one night but I hope to be back again and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Switzerland!

This property has a lovely view and many of the amenities you'd expect from a 4.5 star establishment. It was apparent that the building was a renovated older establishment and can use a few more quality touches and decorative accents but its wonderful location, well informed multilingual staff made it a very pleasant stay.

Perfect place to escape and recharge. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are amazing (I suggest opting for a room with panoramic view). Great walking trails and the hotel offered a free walking pass. The spa is amazing.

Wonderful
This is a fantastic hotel with wonderful friendly staff who will do anything for you whether it is at the reception, restaurant or spa. The food in particular is amazing - among the best places in Switzerland for food. This applies to both the bar and the restaurant. The views of the mountains are stunning and the spa is beautiful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We had a perfect stay here.

Stunning hotel and the views are jaw-dropping. Members of staff are hit and miss. Some are cold and not interested, some are very friendly. I expect consistently high-level service from such a hotel.

some issues to consider before booking re service
I had several issues with this stay so not sure worth the over $500 paid for the suite. First, I wanted to add a 2nd night - I could have booked it through hotels.com but had them call the property - the hotel pulled it from the hotels.com site so I had to book it by contacting them directly, thereby losing my credit for the night. In addition, had the following issues - 1. first day, no hot water for showers (which they fixed), 2. the outdoor spa pool pictured also was not hot...barely lukewarm and therefore not pleasant 3. the sauna/steamroom was co-ed mandatory naked and the towels are the size of handtowels not big enough to wrap around any part of you and not so comfortable at 60yo and chubby walking around naked and robe was too small for my husband 3. the restaurant (nor bar) could not take us the 2nd night for dinner as they had a pharmaceutical group there which added about 25 people and the kitchen couldn't handle it even though there were tables available. 4. We had massages booked the day we were checking in and went to use the spa ahead - they gave us one locker to use in the men's locker room, so I had to change, come out and meet my husband to give him my clothes/shoes and again later and then carrying pile of my stuff thru hotel. 5. When trying to check in for the massage, no desk nor person available to check in...the door was locked as the person who checks in also stocks spa and gives massages 6. many windows look right into adjacent houses/hotels.

I would visit here again in a heartbeat. The room was gigantic and offered so much comfort and entertainment. The view from the deck / spa was fantastic, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!!
