"The staff immediately welcomed us with a complementary drink, and helped take luggage up stairs (no elevator, but plenty of rooms ground floor if stairs are an issue). They have a high quality coffee maker available all day, and drinks bar for evening to relax in. I opted for breakfast. In addition to a buffet with meats, bread, cereal, fruit, pastries, they had a number of cooked breakfast options. I recommend the "Scottish". Overall, more than enough to eat and start the day. Staff were very accomodating to requests and extemely friendly. I will stay here again next trip to Edinburgh."

"Excellent walking location! Spotless modern rooms ! Wonderful breakfast with extremely friendly and accommodating staff! Only one small working elevator and noisy construction work but that will all pass! Absolutely stay here … this place is a gem!!!"

"The courtyard area is lovely. However they play canned music out there much of the day, so if your room faces the courtyard, as ours did, then you can hear it. I did not notice any soundproofing inside the hotel either (ie, hallway noise and noise from the floor above). The restaurant is lovely, great breakfast and nice bar upstairs. Outstanding location!"
